I hate TMF! Is this place any better?

even on a site so far from the norm, you'll find them. i agree that it isn't quite woman friendly. (not that i want it to change to favor one gender over the other) if they took some of your ideas, i'm sure it would become much more balanced to that extent...

i dont really post often but i thought id give some insight. bloo has a really good idea and good intentions to go along with it. however, i read the 7 page tmf thread and it saddened me she resorted to insults in the end instead of being more civilized. other than that i enjoyed her ideas and hope to see them come into reality eventually. although young and inexperienced, i would enjoy looking for a long term relationship in which tickling is an open subject in the environment in which she speaks of.

I just skimed through the whole thing and she did a lot more insulting then on just page 7.She started off being nice and they gave some constructive criticism back and the whole thing just fell apart from there.

If you cannot spot the constant emasculation that goes on in that forum, you need to take off your leather masks!!

Women have developed balls and use them on that forum more often than men now!! Just look at how many women are acting out sexually with other women, while men sit back, electronically castrated and implicitly disrespected.

Unfortunately, numerous TMF men have an odd fascination with dominating dominant women... and they don't have a clue how to do such a thing, which leaves the women ACTING dominant and not really enjoying it.

Exactly what statement as a community do they push? By doing a public statement, it'll make it clearer for others who do not wish to be a part of it. Or, it could possibly make the admins change a perspective, if enough people are eloquent about the issue. (Newgrounds, for example, had some drama around 2006 and dissenters posted well-reasoned arguments against a well-respected mod and were still allowed to exist and be respected as the community... I wish a lot of others followed their example but as you say, the owner is free to do as s/he wishes)

This actually sealed the TMF a bit for me. There is strange attitude about M/M that really killed my taste for the forum. "If you want money, you'll start putting chicks in there" and such showed me that my tastes won't be found in that community.

I do agree with you that if harping doesn't work, move on.

Secondly, your women's corner idea wouldn't fly. Once upon a time, there was a gender-limited forum that was an offshoot off TMF for the ladies. Guess what happened? it died off.

I think it's slightly different in this case. Porn, and the pursuit of it, has always been in higher demand than everything else since the inception of the internet. This much is blindingly obvious. Frankly I don't blame the TMF, the members, and especially the admins. They go where teh moneyz is. That's just how we apes operate. Although it is nice - there are those of who have other passions. Sometimes they can mesh, but when insults are deployed, that chance is completely ruined.

If there's anything I've learned from trying to push atheism on people, it's this: don't. :lol People are stuck in their ways, and will not be forced to change. Sometimes it's good, and sometimes it's bad. Getting hostile will expose the bad. Her posting at the TMF is a beautiful example of that in action. Now I actually visit the chatroom often, and there are quite a few M/Mers there. I'm not sure if that's what you're after though. I've never really looked at the content - like I've stated before; all of my "forum time" there is spent jabbing at religion. :lol

If I had to guess, I would say it's because the vast majority of REAL women are not into F/F stuff. From my experience, the pretenders are easy to spot, and the idea of a forum dominated by them is beyond creepy.

LOL! No doubt! That's why I was careful to put "well-reasoned argument". NG insulted the crap out of the mods, but hey, that was how the forum rolled and well-reasoned could be interspersed with the LULZ. TMF doesn't tolerate it because for the most part, everyone must be respectful.

I completely agree that people go to the money. I was more or less expanding on the idea that creating a forum of many interests or even a community with a variety of tastes is NOT easy. Sort of like "freedom isn't free". It's easy to block off the minority for the pursuit of the majority and probably more economically sound and is easier for identity purposes.

But it's not wrong to call them out on it. If they're not in it for all tastes, then people should absolutely say "this is not what I was looking for" (again, respectfully). Define the community.

Getting hostile and discussing the community's limitations are two different things. I completely agree that her attacking was wrong, because it was neither clever nor eloquent.

Speaking of which, we must go to two different forums because in TMF chat, all I get are invitations to cyber and all discussions are about M/F and F/F. :lol M/M videos are dissed when the title clearly says "M/M". There's also a lack of M/M stories and art. Like I said, my tastes likely wont' be found there 🙂
