This morning, the goal I have worked so hard for, for months, has finally happened. I passed my New York State Insurance Exam with a score of 74% !

My family, for all I complain about them, were filled with pride. My dad is away in the islands. I could hear the man was crying on the phone. My two maternal aunts were thrilled for me.

My two best friends, Adam and Barney, were extremely happy for me. We will be celebrating New Years tomorrow with a truly happy tone.

To my friends at TMF: Thanks to all of you who supported me through this process. The last nearly four years have been hell. I think with this, I have finally turned a corner.

To my darling mother in Heaven: I miss you, every day. I know you can see my accomplishment, and that somewhere, you are smiling with pride. I wish I could give you a great big hug! I hug you with my feelings and my heart!

Of course, most important in this process, I thank my mentors at Aflac. Jay, my trainer, and Ed, my course review instructor. I would not be an insurance agent today, without either of them. They are wonderful people, and I'm so thrilled I could reward the opportunity they gave me. I hope to be a most productive member of the Aflac team!

I'm glad your persistence paid off! Congratulations, Mitch!

Crackity, thank you, my friend.

Thanks, Leo, I appreciate it, my friend.

Thanks, GQ. I appreciate the thoughts, my friend.

Thanks, Flat, I appreciate it, bud. You mentioned persistence paying off. You hit the nail right on the head.

Thanks, bill, my friend. I confess to never having seen the movie Rudy, but.. I'll take your word for it.

So,,..,. as I post this.. It's been four hours since I e-mailed my trainer, and no reply. I don't know if I have to go into the office tomorrow.. or what happens next.

I'm not going to obsess. I'm just going to savor this, and be ready for whatever comes next.

2014 looks like it will be a banner year for you. Super excited for your success!

Thank You, Nicole. I appreciate. I hope what you said comes true, and that 2014 is a banner year for me. I wish you, and all of my friends, a very Happy New Year.

Congratulations on your success, Mitch. Your hard work and perseverance paid off. Kudos to you and enjoy celebrating the new year with your supportive friends and TMF family.

des, I thank you for your good wishes. I wish you a very Happy New Year.

Thank You, C.A.B, I appreciate it, my friend.

It's been a great day for me all around. Jim Gardner was on vacation all last week, so he wasn't on to relax me, as I was working so hard to pass this exam. Tonight at 6, I went to the WPVI site, and he was back from vacation. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

I wish you and your family a happy, healthy 2014.

One other point I should make..

I think it was probably meant for me to pass today. The way everything "broke", so to speak, just made it seem like it was in the cards.

As I may have mentioned: I take the subway into Manhattan. The testing center is near Penn Station, the big train station in Manhattan.

They are doing weekend night construction. First, I couldn't get an E train that I needed into Manhattan, because of that.

Then, we had continuous delays because of a large volume of train traffic.

Finally, my train into Manhattan was delayed at a point in Queens, because, most unfortunately, there was a very sick passenger on a subway ahead of the one I was on, who needed to have medical personnel come on board the train to attend to them.

The testing system starts at a specified pre arranged time. The computer clock of two and a half hours allotted started counting down. I couldn't call ahead to say "I was delayed because of a sick passenger, or other delayed trains". They would have said "Sorry that happened to you, but your time has started, and all it means is you have less time to complete the exam".

I usually like to allow a lot of time, to get settled, get testing instructions, chill, etc. This time I cut it very, very close.

All the distractions on the way there made me very nervous, but, once I sat down, I was able to focus. I didn't even need the whole two and a half hours allotted. I used.. about an hour and forty five minutes for the actual answering of 150 questions.

The system then allowed us to go back, and review our answers to all 150 questions. I went through, and read everything carefully, and I changed.. four answers that I can think of. One needed 105 answers right out of 150, for the 70% needed. I got 111 answers of 150 right for the 74% final score I got.. so, those four answers.. whether they were all correct, all incorrect, or some of both, didn't make or break my test.

Of course, even with all the distractions, I'm just thrilled and feel blessed with how it turned out.

Thanks, Boh.

Thanks, Bator.

(I was writing my long winded post as you guys were congratulating me lol)

Glad you made the December 31st deadline. 😀
Best wishes for 2014, my friend.

Thanks, mils, I appreciate it.

What you said about the Dec 31st deadline. I'm glad I made it by Dec 31 too. I was told last week, however, that I would have been accepted into the company even had I not made it by the 31st.

I probably wont find out anything now until Thursday.

Happy New Year, mils. I wish you a great 2014.

It feels great to finally achieve what you worked so hard to get! Big congrats! and best wishes and good vibes for the future!
