Well I didn't complain nor compliment about this nice establishment, but i think i could spicy it up a little bit.
I wonder what do the staff and admins think about this idea:
-*- Holding contest for best tickling/not tickling story/picture -*-
That would be interesting, giving artists a wanted challenge and making it into a great event that would probably raise popularity...
Give some thought about it and tell me what do you think...

Nice idea. I like it. It would mean some nice artwork and stories.
Do you mean entering new stories or just nominating old ones?

I like the idea, but I thiink it would be best if it was new submissions only. I.E. You create a piece of art/story yourself just for the competition. That way, all the artists/writers give their best and it's a fair competition. I think it's a fantastic idea. 😀

And the ribbon goes to...

A fine idea! Hell, I might even give the story competition a try! Not that I'd have a fart-in-a-hurricane's chance of winning, mind you...

Well... if it's as Senshi says, then I'd really back it up. It would bring a lot of fresh artwork and stories to the forum.
And Rick... in chance you do compete, good luck. Good luck to all contestants.

That...would be....EXCELLENT!!!!

THIS WOULD GIVE ME SOMETHING TO DO OVER THE SUMMER!
Come on Admins...you know what to do...

Make it a competition! yes! I thin this is a wonderful idea 😀 I may even attend it ^^

Yeah, I'm out of school for the time being, too, so that puts me in alot better shape)time-wise) to actually come through with something if we do this.

Wow so many supporters... you are making this old bones cry now... 😀

What's not to support... chance to see some high quality artwork and stories is always welcomed. Especially since authors are gonna put up some extra work into them.

Yeah, that's what I like about it. And anyone who doesn't like competition doesn't have to enter. 🙂

Doubt it would happen. Similar ideas have come up before, and it usually ends with someone coming in and bitching about how they don't want to promote 'competition' and make the other contestants feel bad about not winning since most here aren't mature enough to handle it apparently. It's sad, but meh, what're you gonna do?

Excess, i think Senshi just answered your prob... anyone who thinks will be offended if he/she looses, or doesn't feel like competing, or has any other reason whatsoever, doesn't have to enter.
That's why they should have a 'NHF' rule in applications... any contestant who joins in has to approve that they have no hard feelings if they don't win. Besides, it's not like the reward would be anything but fame, it seems.

Still, funny how there's no words from the staff still.

I think that contests here would be a great idea that would liven up our contributions, but they should be organised and judged by the members themselves rather than by the staff, who have an obligation to remain neutral.

I think it'd be nice if the idea was staff-sanctioned as official to the Theater, in the sense that a staff member should launch the official thread(s) for the story and art categories, just to give the things some credence and illegitimacy.
But yeah, it should probably be member-voting for the winners.
The stories should probably be kept to a certain length, too.

Well, yeah, my idea would be that the staff determine application form, maybe the length (in case of story) and the time deadline for contestants to bring their stories and works to competition, and after that deadline, the thread is posted where the members get to vote. Also, this too should have some time limit (a bit longer for stories, due to the time required to read).
So, this contest could go something like this:
1. Applications for competition, to see how many people would compete
2. Time is given to contestants to make and post the works.
3. After the time given has passed, new thread is opened, in which people get to vote for their fave story/piece of art. Also, this poll stays open only for a set period of time.
4. When that time passes, the one with most votes is the winner.

Of course, without staff and their permission and support, such a thing could hardly be organized. This is just my view of how things could (not should and not have to) be organized.

EDIT: This way, staff too can vote out their favorite, their voice being equal to members.

Yeah, something along those lines would be great. Hope that the Admins will consider it. 🙂

That's the thing though, that was mentioned before. And yet people were still saying that and voting against it. Trust me, I agree with you, but yeah. But if the mods decided to let it happen then I'm all for it.

why not just make a vote like you can set on every thread... anyone who wants to apply has to put a thread with his name and story, plus a poll with anonymous (i know why I am saying this) with next options: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or a b c d f how ever you like it.
that way it would be fair...

Oh and I forgot one thing to say:
"Tobi is a good boy and he will assist TT anyway he can as long as they help him conquer... um... the world."

Journia Tobi has something very important to tell you. Tobi is your father...'s mother's stepsister's cousin's roommate. This has no connection to this thread, but what the heck... Tobi needs some banana.

I would support that idea. We could open an application thread in the appropriate forum, and once the deadline passed, we would close it and the competition would begin. At the end of the competition, we would create a poll thread with links to the entries and a time limit for members to vote.

We would need a consensus on how much time to allow for applications, the competition, and the polling. Other than that, I don't see any problem with going ahead.

Time limit... hmmm... Tobi votes for one month... let us make it a monthly event. That way anyone can prepare and enjoy the art...

Yes... that was the idea🙂
Hopefully, enough people will apply. Thanks for the support, Mistress.
Well, I'd say that two weeks (max three) should be enough for people to hear about this and apply, then a month should be enough to write the story or draw the art. Finally, being that reading takes time, I'd say four weeks for competition in stories (can be shortened for art, due to shorter time needed to review each picture than a story).
