This reply is inspired by the recent stuff I've posted on religion and spirituality. Since I believe in neither and am a scientific person, I wonder just how far forward or back we could travel in time, if time travel is at all possible. Seeing our ancestors in the trees (NOT monkeys for you creationists), prehistoric times (dinosaurs and so forth, so bring some weapons), or whether we're smart enough not to kill ourselves with nuclear weapons or environmental destruction would be truly fascinating. In fact, if a time machine could protect us from the environment (a lack of oxygen would be rather detrimental to our survival), we might even be able to see the beginning or end of the universe, provided there is a beginning or end and the machine could travel billions of years. Then perhaps we would know once and for all whether God exists. I know this sounds like some wacky sci/fi fantasy, but so is Marty traveling through time in a DeLorean built by Doc! 🙂

Sorry Joby..In my little world the future does not really exist ...nor does the present (as soon as it gets here its the past)..
So no future events only past ones........

My second choice would be to witness the time right after the American Revolution to see where our "political roots" began.
