Indianapolis Colts 6-0

I'm always happy when the Colts lose. That franchise betrayed the city of Baltimore long ago. OK, so it was their stupid, drunken owner that betrayed us. Still, even though we have the Ravens, it's still weird seeing that uniform in another city, despite how long it's been.

But that's how the NFL gets NEW teams :dogpile:

What??? Did you say something??? If you guys would have done the right thing by the Colts, you would still have them. But then again, I have to think about whom I am speaking too!!! When you figure out the drunks ( or did you get burned and that is why you are talking about drunks ) and people and life in general, then you can come talk sports. You will always be allowed in. 😛

True, but losing the Colts was basically the equivalent of Cleveland losing the Browns. The irony that it was the city of Baltimore that took them really made many people here uncomfortable for a while. Fortunately, Cleveland got their team promised back to them. Baltimore went 13 years without one. John Unitas, John Mackey, Raymond Berry, Art Donovan, Jim Parker, etc... the legacy that left with them really hurt this city for a long time. The memories were all they had. Don't get me wrong, it's great having the Ravens. It's a new tradition for a new generation. But to many folks, the old Baltimore Colts were the true legends of Baltimore football, and always will be. Ironically, I was only 5 when they moved, but learned all about them and learned to love the old days.

Er... huh? Robert Irsay was a well-known drinker. He frequently appeared under the influence, which led to his combativeness with the media. Speaking of the media, there was the now-infamous time that he stood at a podium and flat-out lied to the Baltimore media when asked if the reports of the Colts moving were true. Shortly thereafter, the team left for Indianapolis. He fielded very cheap, non-competitive teams during the final years here. That is why the fans stopped coming to see them at Memorial Stadium. Also, I was only 5 years old when the Colts moved, so I hardly got "burned". I didn't grow up with the Colts, but learned all about the glory days of John Unitas and crew, and learned to love them. Lastly, it seems you would be taking a cheap shot at me. Not very neighborly.
