Birds are singing, it's 4:40Am and I can't sleep.....(my normal bedtime is 2-3am) ...largely thanks to my neighbors making out in their FRONT YARD from 3-4am(!?!) (in full glow of their porch-light!?! Everyone in this whole town's gone insane this past week)

Know any good insomnia remedies?
 
Well,I've had the same problem and I didn't have any of this to try,but they say Turkey can help and apparently tea is very relaxing.I have been drinking tea and I don't know why,but it is.
 
Yeah i often have trouble sleeping but i usally take a small walk to relax me and it helps most of the time.
 
Buy a sonic bird repelling machine if it's the birds.

If it's your neighbors...threaten to report them for public indecency or disturbing the peace...and if they keep at it...then it's lawsuit time baby!

But seriously, why didn't you go over and politely introduce yourself and suggest a threesome? Or at least get out your video camera with the low-light attachment and make a vid to sell on the net? (lol, only kidding!)

Actually, I once had the unpleasant circumstance of being next-door neighbor to a particularly audibly amorous couple. One wondered how anyone else in the house ever got a proper night's sleep! Plastic earplugs like they sell in safety equipment shops of Wal-Mart help lots with extraneous noises. A fan or sound generator (waterfalls, etc) can help too.

Oh no, people kissing in front of their own house, on their own property! What is this world coming to!? Next thing you know, they'll start letting young people drink alcohol, or dance! Oh, no.. what if the mere mention of this will cause people to drink alcoholic beverages and dance at the same time?

I say this, countrymen! Whatever these terrible sins may bring, we good folke of Salem must surely take up pitchforks, torches, and put an end to this devilry.

Well, if you can't go to your doctors and get them to give you some medication to help you get a good night's sleep, maybe try melatonin - that's something you can get over the counter, like advil, I believe... :huh Well, anyways, I'd suggest doing more physical activity in the day so you'd be physically tired as the evening draw into night, so hopefully you'll be able to sleep.
Those are the only suggestions I can think of and trust me, I can relate to your predicament! >_<

The melatonin is helpful, but only if you are guaranteed a solid 8 or more hours sleep. Less, and I feel all cranky the next day.

Two methods that work for me are:

Taking a couple of ibuprophin before bed.

Eating a decent meal before bed. I know they say not to, as you'll put on weight and stuff. So, this one may not work in your case. I always sleep better on a full belly, though.​
 
Well I just recommend what was recommended for me, as it seemed to have quite the opposite effect (a few hours of sleep guaranteed, but I couldn't go back to sleep though I was still physically tired). :unsure
 
I'm exhausted, but my larynx is acting up again. Took some albuterol and now can't sleep. My hips and legs hurt too, which they never have before. I'm at a relative's house in their guest bed, but that's never been an issue before.

Worst thing is, I'm going to feel like shit all day tomorrow. This was not supposed to happen.
 
I don't think melatonin or albuterol will stop the public sinning, folks. You haven't solved anything!
 
a natural sleep is always better than a medicated one. i stay away from the sleep inducing medications when i cant sleep. Lavender incense is supposed to be good. it has worked for me in the past . . .

That reminds me, I haven't had a chance to sin in quite some time! I could do with a good night of sin right about now! 🙂
 
Eating pasta late at night will keep me awake. Different foods can really screw up your sleep.
 
Forget the supplements, and try mental persuasion, or whatever they call it. Try pretending that you have to wake up 10 minutes from now. Always works for me XD
 
I was only able to sleep for 5 hours even though it's Sunday Felt like shit all day, got nothing done. I turn into a computer zombie when I'm tired like this. Won't bore you with the details but I'm having the usual troubles with falling asleep. Wish I could buy new body parts as easily as car parts. 😛issed

Actually, part of the issue may be that I went with a friend to see this guy last night. We had a late night. I just can't keep partyers hours like I once did (guarantee - I didn't have a single drop of alcohol to drink!).

Gonna try going to bed ultra early. Wish me luck!
 
Looks like I get to bump this thread again. Another involuntary all-nighter. For the usual reasons.

There are just so many incompetent fucks masquerading as medical professionals in this country, no shit. Unless you live in a major city, you're probably seeing one of them. I must have seen every one in this rotten burg.
