Lets start with this congressman. I know The View has ripped and also Letterman.
Its all very borderline if they are mocking the congressman or the act of tickling itself.
So do you think this is all negative attention for us?
:ty:

I think it is. I also think this is going to screw up search engines for us for months 😎

In my honest perspective, I think the media is a twisted, demeaning tool. I hate it.

I'm very non-mainstream. I hate the idea of the media even *covering* us, in light of the fact that the media naturally likes to spread their manure all over everything anyway. With that being said, I prefer to have a ... manure-free life. Therefore, I keep the TV off, and my mind focused on other things.

Like tickling. 😎

Well said! :woot:

Not at all is it bad for us. I think people know the guy acted innapropriately, not because it was specifically tickling, but because that level of familiarity is unprofessional.

I don't care what the dopes on the view or what Letterman think! They are essentially a group of Obama cheerleaders. They could give two squats about tickling. The motivation is to attack an Obama critic.

Even if it is bad, I don't think it will last too long. Just like every other scandal, it all passes with time. People and media have their fun with it and then it's done. I'm not concerned with it.

So far it does seem bad for us. It puts the spotlight on creepy tickling, tickling in the context of sexual harassment allegations.

I think you are worried because you fixate on the tickling. As you would, being a ticklephile. Other people are barely paying attention to it, I am sure. The whole thing is about attacking a politician, not attacking a tickle fiend. 😛

I think you're all overestimating this recent media exposure. Namely because I have absolutely no idea what media exposure you're talking about. So, using me as a barometer, I think we're safe.

That's a very good point.

Let's face the facts. Tickling and most other fetishes (in spite of tickling
being very mundane in comparison to some) seem to usually get negative
attention when exposed to the public with the exception of open-minded
individuals. And I am finding open-minded people to be few and far between in life. Fortunately if you're patient you can usually talk sense into the others. 😛

I think it's extremely bad for us. There is a very very good chance that someone is going to OUT the TMF to the entire nation on a talkshow or radiotalkshow or something. It is extremely easy, just type in tickle on google and the TMF comes up immediately. Not only that, but now if they decide to type on "tickle" on youtube or dailymotion, all the clips are gonna pop up. This could be the undesired exposure that many of us have feared could come some day. This is not even the only most recent incident. Daniel Tosh on Comedy Central recently showed what looked like an internet clip of two guys from a tickle fetish video tickling each other in a tub. Also, let's not forget Joanna Krupa from dancing with the starts being outed for her part in the very same video clip that exposed Sara Kozer as ticklish nurses. This dipshit politician is just created another bad stereotype for people who have fetishes. This is probably worse for our community then what happened with Sara Kozer back 8 years ago.

Ditto.

I'm fairly open to telling girls I meet that I like being tickled... I don't go as far as to call it a fetish but I would say about 7 out of 10 find that funny/cute and all the ones that I ended up dating always loved tickling me... So I don't think tickling really has that negative view that's being discussed here.

But seriously, what news are you guys talking about?

If this is the Eric Massa stuff (which I just heard about today), then I think that the fascination is more with the aspect of the homosexuality taboo over the fetish taboo.

Umm.....CNN, letterman for the past 3 nights has discussed it, it's on news websites all over

Well let's see here. I know I don't hear anything anymore about Joanna or Sara and their part in the tickle world. Second of all, even if someone was going to "out" the TMF, it's not like the TMF is a hidden, private site. You can't "out" a public forum. People know that anything you put on a site, whether it's a picture or a clip, it has the possibility of being somewhere else out there in the cyber world. That's why a lot of people don't publically post their pics on here. Or they feel comfortable enough to post them. That's their individual choice to do so.

I still don't think it's someone panic-worthy. If we didn't get "raided" after the Joanna and Sara stories, I'm pretty sure that we're ok.

Concurred.

Just because no one is saying anything about it now, doesn't mean that they cannot bring this old case up and discuss it again ... and possibly make it bad for all of us. It could happen. Is it happening right now? Not completely, but it could. The fact that the possibility is there is what is unnerving. :ermm:

Seriously, I couldn't care less what the media or mainstream-people think about tickling. Only people who know me very well know that I am into it anyways, and they don't think any different of me because of it.

Sex usually doesn't get a bad name because of rape in the media!
