Well, I hope my life will last still long enough to maybe change my opinion, but I have only two moments, Steph, (That is Estefania in Spanish isn’t it?).

I lost one brother from AIDS on Feb of 94 than in July of the same year I lost another one to Cancer. March of 2001 my brother died from a car accident; In 2004 I lost 2 uncles and an aunt, the aunt in Feb and the uncles both died on July 25, 2004 one in a nursing home (the husband of the aunt that pass away) and the other one Whom I love deeply in his bathroom in a house he was renting from the previously mention Aunt and Uncle; they died at the same time. Also in 2004 a close cousin died from Asthma 2 weeks after my uncles died, and lastly another close cousin died in Aug of 2005 from Cancer.

I personally don’t look at death as a punishment to the people that died, but a release from this life that allow them to move on to the next phase of their existence.

and that, friends, is what makes life odd, frightening...and yet, worth living. well said, stloldg.

I had that same thought once... unfortunately I misinterpreted it and took a shot gun out into the woods... had the barrel against my chest... the butt end on a rock... a stick through the trigger and a foot on each side... just as I started to press down... my dog came out of nowhere and knocked the rifle out if position. Damn I love that dog.
Course... now... I figure I'll just wait til death comes on it's own... I'm in no big rush anymore.

The birth of my son brought clarity and purpose to my life like I had never known.

When I was five. That's all I have to say.

Cheers. 🙁

Reading all of these posts have definitely put things in perspective for me. Like many here I have way too many defining moments to list. Literally I'd have to put them all in a hat and pick one. The murder of my father in front of me was clearly a moment in time that I to this day am coping with, but I haven't allowed it to stall my life. Though I'm now dealing with medical issues too, I'm a firm believer that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all of you clearly demonstrate strength
