The 1971-72 LA Lakers 33 game winning streak. That is unreal to think of any team winning 33 games in a row, in any sport.

Pete Rose's 4256 hits. Whatever our personal opinion of him is, I dont think any player will stay around long enough to ever break that record.

most unbreakable sports records

When I first started reading this thread, two records popped into my mind:

Cy Young's 511 career victories (a pitcher would have to have to pitch for twenty five years and have 20 wins a season to reach 500).

Cal Ripken's 2,632 concsecutive games streak (I don't know anyone loves their job that much to show up without missing a day of work).

TO should retire now... I know he wants to be number 1, but he'll never be better than his fellow team mate, Rice.

Imo he will never beat Rice's record. But I believe TO does have a record of his own, that is being the only NFL player to score against every team in the league.

I just thought I'd remind you that Frank Gore is still playing football.. And although Emmit Smith is awesome, don't be bias because you're a Cowboys fan, thanking no one will ever beat him lol...

Frank Gore? He's great when he's healthy but you know his career will be derailed because of injuries. Chris Johnson has the best chance of the current RB's.

It's just going to be hard for a running back to accomplish what Emmitt or any other RB from previous eras did because they're using two-or-three RB's to carry the load. Every team has a back who'll run 20 times, one who'll get 10-or-so carries, and one who'll likely get 5 runs in a game.

Brett Favre, Most times retired without missing a game: 3. I mean that's damn impressive. To retire that many times and still never miss a game is extraordinary.

But seriously, 285 games in the NFL (308 with playoffs) in a row is unheard of. He hasn't missed a start since 1990.

Interesting to mention that Garrett Wittels, a Division-I college baseball player for Florida International, currently has a 56 game hitting streak. Florida International's season just ended, but Garrett is within 2 games of equaling Robin Ventura's Division-I record of 58 games set in 1987 for Oklahoma State. College ball and metal bats aside, that's still an impressive record that most predicted would never be approached.

If Rafael Nadal remains healthy, he will break that one.

If anything, one record that will never be broken in men's tennis, in my opinion, is Rod Laver's two career full grand-slams in a calander year. And just to think - if there hadn't been a ban on him during the transition to the open era in pro tennis, how many more would he have won? scary.
