Just mentioning the word "Tickle".

How many are crazy like me and actually looked up the word "tickle" in the dictionary?? I did this as a kid way back before internet was around!

Same here. Did this at libraries -still do if I'm bored-, the Goodwill (good definitions in those prehistoric, 4 inch thick dictionaries), book stores, library book archive computer and so on. Some parts of those old definitions are burnt in to my mind. "...as the bottom of a foot is very ticklish." and "To touch or stroke lightly as with a finger or feather to cause uneasiness, laughter and spasmodic movements." "Ticklish: sensitive to tickling...requiring tact..." I forget the rest.

Well tickling is never completely out of my mind, it's always lingering there somewhere. If I hear the word I feel like I turn red and am kind of embarassed as if everyone around can tell what it does to me. If I see people get tickled out in public, same reaction. I feel like there's a big billboard announcing that I have a tickle fetish. Probably not true but that's how I feel.

Every time I hear the word, I get an electric little jump inside of me, though you'd never see it on my face. It definately sounds great when I hear women say it. 😀

"Guilty as charged" on the dictionary inquiries. I've even looked it up, more
than once in the same dictionary, to make sure I didn't miss anything. That
was more when I was a kid and had a dictionary handy, though I'll still look it
up every now and then 🙂

Hearing the word tickle, or mentioning it myself, seems like a big deal. I tend
to believe its users are throwing it out there for a reason, since it's so rarely
used.

There is a pretty good looking single girl, at work, who mentioned "the word"
recently while at a group lunch. She has a boyfriend, one of those guys who
hasn't worked in 3 years, while she pays all the bills and is forever angry at
him. No ring or anything. Back to the lunch: Everyone was looking at the
menus and she picks up the drink list that's on the table on a stand. She
says "How about a Rib Tickler?", a drink on the list. No-one said anything and
she sheepishly said "Just kidding" while looking down, in a totally embarrassed
way.

That is a woman who will always scribble her nails on you, when she is saying
thanks or making a point. After reading all these posts here, I think this is a
situation to explore. I'll mention "tickling" and see what kind of reaction she
has.

Hiya!😎

 actually i'm reminded of a really old commercial i saw once at a movie theatre - it was kind of a commercial fest of sorts - anyway they were actually advertising this deodorant called "Tickle" I swear it's true! Anyway, i remember subtly going undercover to try to find this at the local chemist shops -sadly without success.

In the process i actually had to go to the counter and like "ask" for it! It must have been a sight to behold for the people reviewing the security tapes!😱

This young woman hat pulled low over her face, wearing dark sunglasses approaching the counter glancing over her shoulder then muttering something to the sales clerk who normally looked awkward and shook his or her head.

Anyway, my usual reaction to hearing the word "tickle" is more or less a combination of tingly shivers that slither over my sides, thighs and tummy that gives me the urge to giggle. On a good day i suppress it. On others, i'm :umm: 😱 more embarrassed.:tounge:

That's my experience.😛

Many blessings,

Seeing as how we all seem to have done the dictionary in the library thing (many times in my case), I wonder how many other people we see in libraries we assume are normal readers, are really closet ticklephiles.

A few things on that anyway. Namely one of the libraries where I used to live as a kid, had massive volume dictionaries (telephone directory size) which covered between three to four letters per volume. Thus it had about four pages devoted to tickling, quoting all these references and examples from literature (boy was I in seventh heaven when I discovered that). I also discovered (through cross referencing) that if you looked up the word Titillate, you got a whole new set of examples.

Another library thing was that I became an absolute expert at speed reading/flicking through novels (i.e. ten minutes max) to see if I could find the word or any references (with a few notable successes).

Oh yea and another thing, the psychology textbooks were also another thing I made a beeline for. Now there was one famous book I stumbled across called The Female Orgasm (which of course is a somewhat magnetic title for any young man). So scanning around the library to see no one was looking in my direction (they probably had a cctv camera specifically trained on that section), I hastily made my way to a desk with it. Not that I was interested in female orgasms you understand, but I correctly assumed that in the index there must be references to Tickling. Well the two small references were one: a case study mentioning one woman who stated that she like to have her feet Tickled for ten minutes before she even began foreplay. Two: the other reference was a woman comparing vaginal to clitoral orgasms, stating that the former was like someone gently stroking ones bare arms and back, and that the latter was wild and uncontrollable like being violently exhaustingly Tickled.

Talk about a sad mispent youth.

Anyway as for saying/hearing the word thing. No I could never say it (still have difficulty now). As for hearing the word, I became an expert at feigning indifference as if it was the most boring word in the world.

Me. Still do when I see a new dictionary. I also check translation books, encyclopedias, and the phone book. Tickle is a last name that shows up from time to time in the white pages and since they're listed last name first the name in a phone book looks like a command (for example "TICKLE Michelle").

I'm the type that ends up reading the aformentioned books though (except the phone book, I just look for odd last names in there and wonder what the family did a thousand years ago to aqcuire that name).

Hiya! 😎

I know what you mean, Sarusuke! When in book stores I used to -or rather still do 😱- always look for a certain few books in which the word tickling is mentioned and acted upon!

As others have said, i try to do it without the cctv noticing my giggles and blushing smile.
I doubt it works.😛

Many blessings,

I know the feeling. It's like you think people are telepathic and can read your thoughts. That's why when I'm in public or around women I try hard not to even think about it because I feel like they'll know somehow.

It's so nice to read all the things people have written here, it so makes me realise I am not the odd one out in the universe. All of the things you people have written I have felt, the dictionary, hearing the word etc etc. I go out of my way now to say it, within a certain context of course, so that I'm not going to arouse suspicion. I have found it wonderful as it sometimes can spark a conversation. Another trick I like to use, and this is rather naughty, is to find a mainstream film or show with tickling in it, then watch it with a female friend (if you are so inclined) and as the time approaches to see the tickle scene in the film, watch their reaction rather than the scene.....how naughty....or reach over and say, hmm that looks fun and have a little tickle, if you are game...oh I should behave....

Hiya😎

Hmm, this is really interesting. Here we are worrying ourselves sick about what the world will think of our interest in a little tickle.
--as if the world isn't thinking the same thing about a hundred other deep secrets.

I wonder for instance what the world would say if they knew the boy next door actually thought about sex in public or stared long at a particular section of the magazine rack at the corner store?😛 what would i think if he stared admiringly at my ,,,,,😱
Would i or anyone think him strange or maladjusted?? -probably not.

I guess i'm poking fun at myself for caring so much whether the cctv spots me or people figure out my interest in a flirtatious fingering! 🙄

Maybe i just need to relax. LOL!

I totally did. Any reference I could get my hands on.

As for the mention of the word, unless it's with people who have the same fetish, it feels like I'm advertising my fetish or something, though to them it really doesnt mean anything. To friends who know about it and people I desire to tickle, saying the words tickle, tickling, foot, or anything of that sort makes me get really embarressed really fast.

When someone else mentions it, like many people here, it feels like they can sense I have the fetish or something. But I know it's not true.
