'Lees who attend NEST and other gatherings: How did YOU ask to play?

This idea came from Bella's thread entitled "'Lees who attend NEST and other gatherings: How were you asked to play?" Instead of asking for experiences on the politeness of 'lers who ask 'lees to play, I am interested in experiences of the opposite nature, mainly of 'lees who ask 'lers to top them.

In my two years of NEST gatherings I have asked to be topped thrice, with only one positive reply. However, all three times the individual I asked was usually taken a little aback at my request, not because they did not top (they were all switches) but possibly because of some other reason. Note, I have played with these people before but always as the 'ler and never the 'lee. Is their a strange psychological barrier for most people to come to terms with someone asking them to top them? I never once have had any 'lee come up to me and ask if I would like to tickle or play with her...in fact I have never seen this or have heard of this from or to anyone.

Does this happen and if so how does this usually turn out (for those who have been asked by 'lees or those 'lees who have done the asking)?

Lily, I'm not in the US right now so I cannot make the NH gathering...sadly. But we have plans to meet up, remember? I need to give you saxophone lessons. Plus, you're invited to my birthday so we'll see each other then hopefully.

So one person who has been approached to 'ler, nice. Anyone else been asked or any other 'lees who have done the asking?

I'm primarily a lee. So, for someone to ask me and get a positive response, I both have to know them well and be in the mood to ler. I will very rarely act as ler. So, it's not likely to happen with someone I'm not pretty close to....other than a few playful tickles back and forth.

As a lee, I've found that all I really have to do is make myself available...as I did in that wicked chair of yours...and I don't really need to ask. Those with ler blood and shark-like instincts just seem to show up! lol I've never really asked any specific person to do so at a gathering. So, that's about all I can offer.

That chair had as much of a good time as I am sure you did...pity I was not able to lower the back a bit further at that particular moment so that you could have been laying down. I do have to agree though, you and everyone else in that chair ended up like minnows in a pool of sharks...quite delicious really. 😉

And what a FUN, not to mention exhausting, pool it was! I had a blast! Of course it took me nearly an hour to recover enough to function, but... Boy, was it worth it!!!

My experience

Dear fiends,

My first experience at a Gathering was much like the first dance that I ever attended - there was much anticipation, much anxiety, and groups segregated into known and new attendees. I was lucky though, I was one of the first attendees to the wonderful Gatherings of California. In these early days, the lees typically were very interested to be tickled, often by a group. Thus we had women and men wanting to get into stocks, and tie down boards, etc. But, as the evening progressed, lees tended to be filled with the energy - and felt free to approach those they found desirable, and asked if they wanted to adjourn to the back room for some personal one-on-one tickling. Mind you, this was a safe zone - DVNC and others (including me) would not tolerate inappropriate behavior (consensual behavior is a different subject) with lees. Therefore, at the Gathering, the lees were safe to explore - or rather indulge in single play.

I have been out of the scene for some time now - so I don't know if there is still anxiety and anticipation at the beginning. But, I'll hazard a guess and say there is for those newbies. Thus, my suggestion is to just play it by ear - act as if you're at an acquaintances party. Watch for a while, ask questions frequently, and if you're a lee, feel free to approach a leer if that fancy takes you.

i think it's also if the person knows you. spend time chatting with people in the months between NEST. get to be well known and people will come to you.

i know, come hell or highwater, i will be at the next NEST, it will be my first, but i've had a few attendees beg me to come and want to tickle or be tickled by me.
