Me... Hooks... Dangling...

Whoa, Bro....too intense for me to ever try that one....

But very interesting to observe :frankie:

How'd you get into a headspace to take that task on?

And what did it feel like coming out of it?

Actually, what did it feel like during?

Before I got hooks thrown in me, I was a bit tenser than was ideal. The first one was sort of what broke that, because once I knew what they felt like going in, I could let myself feel the next one fully without fighting it. What really got me in the zone was the stuff in the third set, where I burned in the feeling, and got used to the tension and the sense that I could lean against the hooks as hard as I felt like without falling.

The first minute or so clear of the ground was really rough. I was extremely disoriented (not in a pleasant way), my lower back felt like it was carrying all my weight, and my breathing was really labored. It was sort of like my body was trying to go with it, while my brain was telling me this shouldn't be physically possible. Being able to work through that was mainly down to my troupemates talking me through it, and after that, I just sort of settled into a vaguely dreamlike state punctuated by an occasional sensation of tension where the hooks were pulling (which I liked). Mentally, the best way I can describe it is that it felt like my mind was following an inch behind my body. When I'd swing, I wouldn't actually physically feel being at the arc of it until I had already been at it for a fraction of a second, if that makes any sense.

When I came down, the physical basically came rushing back all at once. My lower back felt like all of the sudden I was supporting way more weight, my legs felt like they were practically dead, and, had I not been attached to the rig, I probably would have done a face plant.

Congratulations, hon.

Thank you, dear.

Ahhhhh Oh my god! i couldn't believe how it looked! Props to how well you handled. The skin being stretched as you were cleared off of the ground made me twitch and flinch, i will admit.

Holy Shit!!!

That is freakin' amazing Strider. I've always wanted to try suspension, but my lack of support failed me. One day it will come. But kudos friend kudos, and huge respect.

Wow! that is really...wait. Really...hmm. really really really. *exhales*

What is this? I have no adjectives for it!

kidding. I have a friend who did this a few years back. what ever. Hope you enjoyed. have fun

wow that iis some pretty wild stuff there dude not my thing but iff that is what ya like more power to ya dudde.

Intense! The adrenal euphoria must've been intense. Thanks for sharing, man. You're ready for adulthood in certain southwest tribes. 🙂 Freakin' intense.

i cannot decide how you managed to even have the hooks put in without blacking out.
i also cannot decide how you could endure the hanging, swinging and dragging thing.
i mean......you must have some serious endurance skills!
that is seriously amazing😀:yowzer:

The hooks weren't that bad, honestly. The pain was pretty sharp, but very brief. Plus, I started getting into my headspace after the first one got thrown.

And thanks to everyone else who's posted so far!

DUDE, I am so proud of you!!! I've never done it but I've helped with the process, and I was told that the endorphins and headspace involved are incredible. Ignore the idiot naysayers, you utterly rock and we appreciate you're sharing!

Thanks, babe! I'm guessing the headspace varies from person to person (and even for the same person on different suspensions), but yeah, it's amazing.

And I'm not particularly worked up over our self-appointed guardians of morality. 😉

I've seen this before; know some folks in the body mod community. Very cool. Not what I am into at all, but kudos to you. I have a phobia of needles and stuff like that so maybe after I'm dead people can stick me with those things...

What actually prevents the hooks from ripping through your flesh as you hang there? I've heard of some horror stories from people that experienced that happening and how they saved the person.

Also worth noting; this was shown a little bit in one of my favorite films Dee Snider's Strangeland. Except that guy was portrayed as a psychopath and the body mod community views that film VERY negatively.

Great Job Strider.

Amazing stuff there. You have tremendous ability and will power, and I am proud to call you friend.

Its amazing the things the human body can do when you put your mind to it.

it's mostly where the hooks are inserted that keeps the skin from ripping at the seams. gotta get the hook underneath enough skin that there's both cushion and support. add in natural elasticity, and you got a hanging Strider.

Strider,

could you come to my house so I can hang you from my Christmas tree?

That would be like the best ornament ever, plus I could scare off more than few people.....

Rob

Strider, I apologize for my overreaction. I realize now my words may have been rather piercing. I hope they didn't get under your skin. In truth I have no beef with you or what you do. You're completely off the hook as far as I'm concerned. Who knows? Perhaps at some gathering one day you and I can just... hang out?

Part the third: How I learned to stop worrying and love the suspension rig (visible blood in a few of these)

all i can say is

WHAT THE FUCK !!!!! ? that had to hurt

Hmm...

Maybe it's because I've been in the BDSM Lifestyle for over a decade, or maybe it's the two pumpkin-headed babies I've birthed :bunny:, but these pics just aren't squicking me as much as other folks; there's little to no blood, Strider looks way more entranced than in any kind of true suffering...I'm just not getting the squeamy vibe, though I'm not in a hurry to go try it :cool2:

Oh you didn't say this. heheehehehe

Wait, just read the rest of the replies, and between Uncle Bill, Drew, Dvnc, etc, we got a a good comedy troupe here. Strider baby, if nothing else, you re bringing out the best in some of these folks.

While I still cannot look at the pictures, I stand (not hang, heheehe) by what I said earlier: I may not get THE passion; but I get passion. Very proud that you went for it.

Bloody hell. 😱

You must have been so focused on whatever it was you were thinking to let the enormity of it go past you. I should think there aren't that many folks out there that could do that and not panic beforehand and make it all go horribly wrong.

Great for you, its obvious you are into it and a really good sequence of photos too 🙂

as the #1 Nobody of the TMF, i hereby declare Strider as the most hard-core of us all!

I don't know about this forum, but I can with certainty that he was the first to move forward and explore other options in our LA scene. Some of us followed his lead and am thanking him still.

Torn hooks are actually pretty rare, and usually result either from somebody doing something they shouldn't be doing (like if you think it's a good idea to have your 250 pound friend hang on you), or just not using enough hooks to support the weight. The latter is more common if you're being hung by the chest or knees, where the skin's relatively thin. The skin on your back is pretty tough. Also, you generally can feel the skin starting to tear, so there's typically time to get you down before the hook tears loose all the way.

Very intense stuff, Strider. Thanks for sharing the pics. I don`t know how in the world you were able to endure the pain.

It honestly didn't hurt that badly. The most traumatic part was being lifted off the ground, and that wasn't so much pain as it was shock and disorientation, which, given the newness of it, caused me to panic a bit. But, I was with people I trusted completely, they got me through that initial part, and after that, everything was cake.

When Strider says hes hanging out with friends hes not kidding.
