Mentions of the tickling fetish before you were "out" with it?

Just curious if anyone has experiences with people mentioning the tickle fetish (or paraphilia) in their presence before you were open about it? Not tickling in general, but specifically as a sexual thing.

When I was in my early twenties, I was at a party and everyone was pretty drunk. A group of people I knew were all kind of piled on the couch together cuddling, just being drunk. One of the guys started tickling the feet of the girl that was beneath everyone else on the couch and she kind of laughed and kicked and made this flirty face at him and was like "Ooh you better not do that. I'm ticklish in a sexual way." To which he of course responded like "Oh REALLY?" And tickled her a little bit more.

I didn't say anything at the time because I was kind of mingling with some other people a few feet away, but I overheard it, and it made me think (for the first time ever) that maybe getting aroused by being tickled wasn't all that uncommon. I really envied how casually she said it and how she didn't seem the least bit ashamed. His reaction gave me hope too. He was a pretty straight-laced vanilla dude, and he didn't seem to think it was weird.

It's too bad that even despite this experience, it took many years for me to finally admit getting tickled drove me crazy sexually.

What about you guys? Was the fetish ever casually mentioned around you and did it affect your ability to be open about your desires?

Wow. I guess I'm the only person this has happened to.

I thought of another one. Also took place at a party a few years later.

We were sitting in a circle playing some drinking games. One of the games involved going in a circle and immediately saying a word, and then the next person would say a word associated with that word somehow, and the person who couldn't think of a word had to drink. Well, someone said "sex," and then the next person said "fetish," and then it got to a girl I didn't know very well, and she said "tickle."

I think I might have more but I'll have to try and remember.

I don't know if this applies to the subject of your post, but back when I was really in the closet I went to a party at someone's house. I was sitting on a couch checking everyone out when an attractive girl that I was acquainted with sat on the couch a few feet from me, kicked off her shoes, put her feet in my lap, and announced nonchalantly that she loved to have her feet tickled. A guy that I knew who was sitting across from us looked at me with what I thought was a knowing grin on his face. This situation freaked me out so bad that I immediately got up and went into another room scared shitless about being 'discovered'. If I had had the courage and began tickling her feet I am sure that I would have gotten a 'sexed-up' look on my face and have been found out. I have lots of stories about close calls in regard to being outed. I was filled with dread at being seen as a perv.

Aw. 🙁 That's sad because you definitely wouldn't have looked like a perve. You would just look like a guy responding to a chick who was asking him to do something. If anything, she would be the one to look "weird" in that situation but she clearly didn't care.

Sorry, Carl,...... I hoped the all-caps would imply that the answer was obvious, heh heh. I also should have mentioned that this lady had one of the more interesting reactions to my tickling her feet. She sort of "purred," in a low, throaty way,... mingled with intermittent giggles. I can still hear it. I also recall that once at a party at my house, she enticed my own dog to lick her toes. I almost dropped my drink.
