If somehow the Mets missed the playoffs because of those 3 games??? Are you kidding??? That is like telling me that you lead the Tigers by 7 1/2 games and not the other way around. Did you not understand me??? The Mets lead this division by 14 games. In fact, their magic number to clinch is 35 games.

As far as Frank Thomas is concerned, is a team obligated to tell a player what they are doing once he declares free agency??? It is really hard for me to feel sorry for Frank Thomas situation when he is getting paid millions of dollars to play a game that I would play for a $100 a game. But that is just an opinion. I will comment on one thing though, Congrats that you won tonight, but to have a realistic shot at catching the Tigers you MUST sweep them. You can't let the Tigers walk away with one game. Feel free to PM me anytime.

So lemme ask u this, did u think the sox were not gonna win the central last year when they hit the august slide? Many didnt, i kept the faith but still. Teams have collapsed before, its happened in baseball. He did not declare free agency, he had a 9 million dollar contract and the team had an option to buy it out, which they did. They could have resigned him for less, but before any discussion, the sox traded for thome and resigned konerko, which pretty much sealed the deal on Frank. Frank felt insulted he wasnt consulted before the trade because it ment he was done in chicago and he wanted to stay\end his career with chicago. So he got picked up by oakland i wanna say for league minimum with incentives in the contract. As for millions, it should be noted, he went thru a horrid divorce where his wife took nearly everything of his, including his house in chicago and hey, being an athlete costs, you have a hectic schedule, travel half of the year, sleep in a hotel from what fam u have, pay taxes in every state\city u play in, pay your agent, pay reg govt taxes, it all adds up. Then there is whatever medical expenses the team may not decide to cover. We have the season series over them, im not worried with the tiggers

back to piazza, he is one of the best offensive catches again i will restate, but i would not want him in there with speedy runners on base or tryin to catch a curve ball in the dirt

Piazza, again I will state is a VERY good defensive catcher. On ball in the dirt he is better than most. He was not good at throwing out runners. Piazza called great games and blocks the plate very well. I have no issues with Piazza being my catcher.

Frank Thomas felt insulted because the team didn't consult him before making trades. I did not know that was a requirement. Lets make sure Frank approves of these trades. Correct me if I am wrong, has Frank Thomas had injury problems for the last 5 years or so??? Did the White Sox pay him as they were obligated to do??? They owed Frank nothing. They make Frank a millionaire probably 50 times over. If the team went in the different direction they owed Frank Thomas NO explaination. The Mets went in the different direction after last season, they DID NOT consult Mike Piazza. Yet Mike was the face of the franchise for the last 8 years. Frank with all of his injuries was not the face of the White Sox franchise.

As far as the Tigers are concerned, your pitching was really good last year. Their pitching is even better than yours was a year ago. Tigers need to win only one game to keep your White Sox down. If you sweep the Tigers you are within 5 1/2 games. If the Tigers get one of the next 2 games you are within 7 1/2 games. That is a big difference with only 45 games left on the schedule.

Not expected but felt it was curteous, since he gave so much to the franchise. Frank has been injured lately but in 01 he tore his bicep divin for a ball, and the last 2 years he broke his ankle in same ankle just diff spots, but apparently he was playing with it broke and was hittin 1 legged hrs. As for face of the franchise, yes he was, he has nearly every 1 of the offensive stats for the team, home run, rbi, doubles, walks, etc. He was the white sox and he was why many people got into the sox back in the 90s with bo jackson and ventura. Right now ozzie is the face but if he didnt win the series, there would be no face of the team

So then if is not expected then Frank is wrong for bashing your favorite team isn't he??? Mike is popular among Mets fans because he is a very quite, classy guy. That and the fact that he came along when the Mets needed a guy to give them an idenity. Now he has left. But he did not punch the organization in the gut on the way out the door. He came here in a quite manner and he left here in a quite manner. Plus he left a lot richer ( like $91,000,000 richer ) than when he came.

Defensively, behind the plate, I'd sooner put the Pepsi machine that made all the football catches in that stupid commercial.

besides his throwing arm, he is a great catcher. he calls a good game and can block a ball in the dirt no problem. albeit Mo Vaughn could steal on him lol
