After my neurologist told me in a most testy manner that I had experienced a TIA/mini stroke just before November 1, 2024, let's just say that the message sank through, loud and clear.
I began losing weight.
On that day, I was 206 lbs.
Now, without even Major exercise, but just, cutting out certain things from my diet, and a lot of walking, my current weight yesterday, 192 lbs. 14 lbs gone, in five months.
I met my cardiologist yesterday. He is an amazing guy, calm, supportive, etc.
I took an EKG and another test, both normal.
My BP was a bit high, top number high, bottom number close to normal, that might have been nerves.,
I will also be getting a new internist. I had blood work about 6 weeks ago, with my now former internist, who had the nerve to accuse me of "Not taking my meds" That made no sense, because I had called him a couple of times to complain that my cholesterol med was giving me an upset stomach. Once he got frustrated, after my calling 2 times within 3 months to complain about meds, and said. "Your stomach is so sensitive" I dont know what to put you on. He knows I am on a lot of meds, and that I have a sensitive stomach, thats his place to work out with me. His demeanor and accusations irritated me , so now I wont be seeing him anymore.
I dont have to meet my new internist for a while, because I just had blood work 6 weeks ago, and have BP meds. One more visit to the cardiologist in early May, and then we will discuss the internist.
Sigh! I learned my lesson, and my neurologist, who I have a great relationship with, I thank God that he aired me out about my habits. Doing so probably saved my life.
As baseball season begins, all is well, knock on wood!
