Jeff, in case your Mom hasn't been laid to rest yet, if your planning on cremation then I believe there is a company that will take some of your beloved Mom's ashes and fashion it into a crystal that you can wear as a necklace so your Mom will be with you always. Unfortunately I have no idea if they have a website or how to get part of a person's ashes to such a company but I felt that might make ya feel better. Hope it does.
