This proud mom just wants to share that my son won the 2001 championship for his car racing class for the Pacific Coast. He runs a car that he built from scratch from a design one of his friends came up with. It's a sports racer with a Suzuki 1300cc motor and it just flies.
We had our final race this weekend. He took 3rd in the main race and took 1st in the contingency race. This put him about 6 points ahead of his main competitor who is our teammate. The battle was close throughout the year and it came to this weekend to seal it.
That was a nice diversion from the activities that went on in Afganistan today. We didn't even know that had happened until just before we left the track today. I pray the men and women involved are all safe and that this is a good step to getting that element of terrorism stopped.
