my theory on the meaning of life

People may have think that were just mammals with very little meaning
Like dogs, cats, insects
But how do we know that the way they communicate they're not asking the same question to each other?
None of us speak dog, none of us speak cat, or spider
So how can you call their life meaningless if we dont understand them?
But what we do know is life has meaning
If it's so meaningless then why live on?
Why strive to survive and make it fun or tolerable?
Why have morals?
I'm not saying be a christian or join a regilon
But there has to be a higher power than us
Think about it
The theory of the creation of life
A bunch of elements gathering togther for no apperent reason
Coincidence?
Or how the galaxy is tuned enough to have life
Gravity is tuned in to an incomprehensible degree to have us here
And the dials and coordinates of the planet are so well set
But the fact of the matter is to make life great
Liveable for you
And not to take it for granted
And to make it better for the future

I actually speak fluent in Giraffe language, and you don't even wanna know what they say about us.

That's very interesting, unfortunately this scientist doesn't elaborate on the "language" he's referring to. Here's me getting back to you:

I tried that, it was on youtube but the bastards took it down after I watched the first ten minutes, I'd have to order it from Amazon on dvd. I'll do that and get back to you.
In the meantime, check out Christopher HItchens vs Dinesh D'Souza.

If you have a list of "required viewing" to argue with you then you should post it all at once instead of one at a time.

fire sprite first of all i dont know how to post it on here this is really like the first time i do stuff like this and second im not trying to argue about an existence of god im trying to put my theroy out there of what i think about life but if comes at me with one clip i will bring out another so how about talking about the subject instead of trying to currect me!

Currection, I was talking about the subject and stressed twice how if this is your theory, you're welcome to it and I hope it makes you happy. There was something in one of your statements that irritated me as it seemed to imply that without belief in God we have no purpose, implication being that I have no purpose because I'm an atheist. That's what started our "clip-war".

ok john getty clipwar? lol well i say why exist if your existence is meaning less whats the point of going on knowing if in a hundred years or so you will be nothing but dead cells you're not gonna exist way longer than you existed so why go on if your not gonna have nothing waiting for you after you pass away 100 years isnt much if you think about it sure youll you want a happy life but why follow what right and whats wrong if you have nothing to fear or accomplish who are you following if your doing something right and how do you know its right if you answers to that get back to me not trying to be a dick but your really want to get on this subject

Fine. In my opinion, none of us chose to be born, none of us asked for this life, but while we're here we should try our best to enjoy ourselves, that's the meaning. Also, when I help my fellow man, it's because I chose to without expectation of reward, I give money to UNICEF twice a year (a secular charity so there's no danger of aid being withdrawn on religious grounds by the Christian proselytizers). I don't give this money or behave well to my fellow humans because I think I'll be judged by God and possibly sent to hell to burn forever. If you're just being a good boy because you think you're being stalked by some supernatural psychopath, that's not morality, that's called coercion.

you still havnt answered my question who are you following when your doing right and how do you know its right cause im not even a christian our in any religon but when you do something wrong why do you feel its wrong is just cause you know some had to have told you its wrong and some had to have told that person its wrong if morality just came from a regular human like you and me how did that guy know and who is he to tell us the difference and i think it takes a little more than good deeds to just recieve glory after i pass away and as for the super natural stalker in many places you go like work school even outside in many places your beening watched for a reason how do you know you're not been watched right now by goverment satilites

Government satellites watching me? That's one sad group of people, I don't care. Morality is an individual instinct, the idea that all of us follow a set list of moral laws is ridiculous, explain sadism. We do in fact all make up our morality as we go along, but what we consider to be basic common morality depends on how many of us agree at one time. For example, today most of us consider the slavery of black people to be immoral, but a couple of hundred years ago we all agreed that it was perfectly moral (and for the record, the enslavement of the "sons of Ham" is mandated in the bible). So basically what I'm saying is, your morality is your own, it only becomes basic morality when everyone agrees with you at any given time and unfortunately religion takes the credit for it EVERY TIME.
"Oh yeah, slavery is wrong, you can thank us Christians for that notion."
"Oh yeah, murder is wrong, it's in the Ten Commandments . . . .just try to ignore all the murdering we've done in the name of of religion 😀"

I don't need God, the tooth fairy or Santa to tell me what's right or wrong thank you, I'm not following anybody but my own instincts and drawing on my own life experiences.

"Do not treat others in ways that you would not like to be treated," is actually in the Analects of Confucious which came before Christianity, but ONCE AGAIN, Christians take all the credit.

once again im not christian and how do you know your instincts are right what makes you so certain that your on the right page just cause you feel that your doing good how do you know that killing a child is wrong just cause you have that feeling, or a certain voice in your head how do you know thats not god or a supernatural being, you dont know so how can you question something you dont about and if some murderers morality is to keep on killing people for no reason what so ever does make him right cause its his morality and if plenty of people were to agree to it does that make it ok? and a right thing to do, you dont have direct answers you just keep insulting and dicriminanting christians and religon and i said over and over im not a christian so get back to me when you answers and not insults

This seems to have become a popular trend these days, you can't account for the beliefs and actions of Christians or any other religious sect because your not a part of them, but you do believe in God, fine we'll play it your way. Bottom line, I think that to kill a child is wrong because I think that to kill a child is wrong, simple. I don't attribute that to the supernatural, and incidentally, not everyone shares that opinion. In the Old Testament, God told Jepthah to burn his daughter to death, but you're not a Christian so you don't believe that do you? I can argue that morality does not come from the divine but the only records of the divine come from Jewish, Christian, Muslim etc scriptures. But if you're not going to adhere to any one of these religions, then on what basis do you believe in the divine?
