Nessonite's Love Hina in colour

Good! Do what I did- buy the dvd boxset. Yes, it is quite a bit of money to put down at one time, but you get everything at once, a cool collector's box, and you actually PAY LESS MONEY buying it like this.

Buying anime volume for volume is actually more expensive in the end. Though it gives the illusion that you're saving money, you end up paying more than you would if you bought the box set. Its worth saving up for.

Also, the Love Hina movies came out in a boxset recently. Theres three of them. The boxset for the movies came out after I had already collected them, so I got screwed. But I may be able to find just the box somewhere, so I can hold them. I've seen it happen before.

Anyways, you'll definitely need to buy the movie boxset as well, as it continues the series past the last episode on volume 6 "Summer by the Sea"

To be correct and avoid a mixup make sure you watch the movies in this particular order-

1.) Love Hina Christmas Special

*on this dvd is a bonus episode- episode 25 (the tv series ends at 24), so after you watch the movie, watch episode 25.*

2.) Love Hina Spring Special

3.) Love Hina Again

It seems you know about The Big O since your avatar is of Dorothy. The Big O season 1 is already available in a dvd boxset as well, and season 2 is almost fully released, if not already. I've looked at the prices, since I am going to buy this series as well, and its actually pretty cheap. For what it would cost to pay an internet bill (assuming its wireless or DSL which is about $30-$40) you can have the whole series. Pretty sweet.

Thanks again. 😀 . I'm looking forward to getting the series now. I've just finished watching Evangelion recently and I'm really getting into anime. And yeah, I really like big O, especially Dorothy R wainright. 😀 .

Ah Evangelion, my favorite. ^__^ If you ever have any questions about that series or the movies which end the series, feel free to ask me about that too. I like to consider myself an authority on that series too.

As far as the Big O, Dorothy is my favorite character. I love her. ^^ I've been meaning to draw at least some sketches of her, but I just haven't gotten around to it lately. Feel free to prod me about it later so my bum will get in gear and do it.

Dorothy has a dry sense of humor, but she's still funny, for an android.

"You are a louse, Roger Smith." -Dorothy

"Grrrrr, why don't I just throw you out of my car!!"- Roger

"You could try, but I doubt you'd be able to lift me."- Dorothy

Or when she plays the piano really fast on purpose to wake Roger up when he sleeps in too late! LOL! Thats classic right there. ^__^

A promise is a promise. 😛 .

I'm still tryna get my head around the last 2 episodes of Evangelion. As if it wasn't hard enough with it being a japanese subtitled version. lol . I'm expecting the movies in a few days though and I've been told that they will have a proper ending for the series. 😀 .

I never got into the swing of the Bif O. Giant robots have never been my thing. 😛 I agree though, Dorothy is awesome.

To be honest i dont really like the robots that much in the series. I dunno what I like about the series to be honest, but it's still great. 😀 . Dorothy has to be my second all time favourite anime female. 😀

The problem is most of these new giant robot/mecha shows are trying to BE Evangelion, and are failing simply because, quite frankily, no series can live up to the bar that Evangelion set. Its in a league all it's own.

Some of these other shows are pretty good though. I don't like Big O because of the mechas, I like it because of the characters, the relationship these characters have, and the way the dialogue works between them. Thats true for alot of series though, including Evangelion, but clearly there are things that set the series apart from one another.

Evangelion initially seems about survival, whereas Big O is more like a detective, slooth goes investigating sort of show. The dynamics are clearly different and thats what makes it all great.

I've never seen Evangelion, but the ending to Big O never did sit with me well. Sure, it was a great series and I happened to like the big robots as well because I'm easily amused with eye-candy effects. The characters were nicely done as well with their own unique quirks put into the mix.

Care to share what happened, TT? I actually like the premise of Big O but the robots that seemed to be there just for the sake of having a giant robot to save the day was irritating. And really if I heard Roger say the words "...40 years ago..." one more time I was going to skewer my ear drums with a pencil. 😛

Well I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it was one of those weird endings that you didn't know whether you were happy or sad. Like the way the final Matrix ended... :weird:

About the "40 years ago...", yes, it's annoying...but I don't think it was done nearly as often as the "50 years ago..." on Inuyasha. 😛

I have to disagree there. Inuyasha spouts about "50 years ago" maybe once every half a dozen episodes. Roger couldnt get half a dozen words out during a show's introduction without reminding us that "something" happened. At least in Inuyasha we KNOW what he's talking about 😛

The Big O makes perfect sense, just like Evangelion. Why is it I'm the only person who understands these types of shows? 😛

Anyways TT, the Big O isn't over yet. What we've seen thus far was only the first season. So disregard what you believed to be the ending. I thought it was the ending too, until I learned shortly after that there was a second season already being finished up. As I was saying to Blooble, the second season is almost fully released on DVD, if not already.

It probably won't air on telivision though for a while. In instances like this, it just makes more sense to buy the series since you already know what its about pretty much, and if you liked the first you'll probably like the second even more. And the price is right.

Dorothy takes a more active role and in the second season. She is now a negotiator in training. That should be interesting. 😀

It might worth taking a look at the second season. I'm currently watching Big O on TV, but the shows aren't in any particular order, so I just have to pick it up as I go along. 🙂

I know it aint v gud. I just colour of a lot of these pics for myself anyway and thought I would post this one. 🙂 .

Nessonite,

This is the first time I saw your Love Hina tickle scene and I have to say, YOU ARE THE BEST. I am actually a big fan of Love Hina. For those of you don't know, Winamp's Internet TV has free a live webcast of the show.

Is the tickler Kitsune or Shinobu?? Awsome job of Naru.

Thanks for your awsome drawing Ness, you made my day 🙂

The tickler is kitsune. There is actually a better coloured picture later on in the post somewhere, that the colours are a bit better. I will repost it here anyway.

Gald I could help. 🙂 . I might post some more stuff soon. I've found some old pictures I'd like to have a try at, like an old evangelion one of Asuka and Rei. 🙂

Sorry, I'm just very critical by nature. 😉

No probs. 🙂 . Hey, if one person likes the coloured pic then I've done my job.

Actually Blooble, the series does run in order or at least it did when I watched it. Its not random episodes.

Ah, no wonder then. I watched it on Adult Swim. Thats also where they air Inuyasha and some of the others.
