NEST 2011 info

I'm really going to try to make it this year. How do I register?

I am certain LeeAllure will get out the registration info as soon as the NEST Team has everything set.

There will be a lot of announcements and posts about it when the registration is ready for people to do so, you wont miss it.

More info on other NEST related events will also be coming soon.

Its going to be a great NEST! Start making your plans and save up now.

Rob

Im ordering plane tickets within some weeks now.
Really looking forward to meet you guys! :numberone:

I live near Philly, are tickets required for anything? I've never been to a nest event before.

You must register for the event and pay the requested fee to attend. If you live nearby then you can save money by not staying in the hotel. Keep looking in this subforum for when registration is available.

Assuming similar prices.......carry the 1.........gonna start to put aside $50/paycheck to be sure to cover all costs. Reasonable.

Flight tickets are ordered! :numberone:

Dude you have brass balls last week your on here begging for money (Accepting donations to fix my miserable life) and now you have money to do this. I f-ing lock your ass in a broom closet for the weekend give you a roll of pennies and sent your scamin ass back to VA.

Does nobody here understand the idea of a fucking tax return check?

and by the way dude, failure. i live in maryland, not virginia.

and further failure, if you paid any attention at all to that thread, i admitted at one point that i posted looking for helpful tips, rather then for actual handouts. im not stupid, i knew there was no way in hell id get money from strangers on a fetish forum. now unless you have something to contribute to the thread, please GTFO

What Milagros posted is true.

Keep watching for registration because the last couple of years the NEST Team has provided something like "day passes" for NEST that covered expenses for whatever day or days for those who live within driving distance chose to attend. I think Paracarl did it this way because he could only attend one day and lived relatively close to Philly. If the NEST Team decides this is still fair and cost effective they may offer it again.

Hopefully you've learned a good lesson that when you ask people for money, they will both remember it and judge you when it seems that you haven't used your money correctly. Saying you are in a huge financial crisis, then talking about how you are going to this and fetishcon make people less sympathetic to your cause. Just saying.

I'm very psyched for NEST!

How much does the whole weekend cost anyway? I'm looking at planetickets and I think I can cough up €650 spread over 4 months, but if there's an additional €400 in expenses then it's probably not going to happen anytime soon.

And I've got to find an excuse to be gone during the Queens day celebrations here.

Safety Precautions for One-Day Nest Passes

Keep watching for registration because the last couple of years the NEST Team has provided something like "day passes" for NEST that covered expenses for whatever day or days for those who live within driving distance chose to attend. I think Paracarl did it this way because he could only attend one day and lived relatively close to Philly. If the NEST Team decides this is still fair and cost effective they may offer it again.

A bit of clarification regarding one-day passes-the following was the arrangement last year:

Remember that if you have not attended NEST before, i.e. if you are a newby, there is a compulsory orientation on the morning of the first full day, Saturday, during which the men and women comprising the Nest Security Team (AKA the Dungeon Monitors) are introduced, and the rules of expected good conduct are explained. This ensures that everyone there understands what good behaviour means, specific to this event, and that all the attendees are 'singing from the same hymnal' thereafter to help keep things safe and relaxed.

Since they've already been through the orientation process, Nest Veterans can attend either of the two days on a day pass, but newbies with a one-day pass can only attend on the first day (last year's Saturday itinerary consisted of Orientation, Meet and Greet, various elective Classes/Workshops followed by a No-play Social, plus optional Sit-Down Banquet and Talent Show, though what you get up to (and with whom) on your own time for the rest of that day is your own affair.)

The Main Event with all the Naughty Bondage Equipment is on the Sunday. This is for safety/social reasons, so that those at the Main Event can enjoy themselves knowing everyone there has already been briefed on rules, regulations and etiquette.

Clearly, flight costs can be the deciding factor in going. Some people make the money to go, others, like myself drive. It's about a 6 hour drive for me. Hotel cost divided among 2-4 people in the room isn't that bad for a weekend. Rooms were about $100 a night I remember, so split that up how you'd be rooming and how long you'd be staying. Registration was $80 something I think last year. (I haven't been there since 2007)

Add on your own needs of nourishment and you have yourself a decent estimate.

If you can sponge up the money to go, I highly recommend it! Start saving now, even if only for NEST 2012. I'll be going this year. Can't wait to see all my long lost friends again.

NEST - 2011

Air tickets are bought. Arriving Friday afternoon (the 29th). Glad to see so many of my NEST friends are already planning to attend. Hope that great Canadian contingent from last year comes back. Met some great people in that group. Are you coming, Mushy? Are you, Christine & Drew? Can't wait to see Ticklejen, Tick Vix, B'more, TexasT......, Rev Jamie & Amanda, Bella, Lee, Milagros, Classy, Max (of course), Pat from upstate, Kwill & Lyte, Ann & Drew, Ray & Tracy, Big John, Lori & Andy, TklChgo, ForestFairy, Viper, Alchemy (Congratulations !! You know why.). There are sooooooo many more. I especially hope that Tickleshotel finds a way to make it. I also hope that MTP-Jeff returns. And wouldn't it be fun to have "QB" back. Maybe this will be the the greatest attendence ever.

One comment: If we are staying at the same hotel as the last 2 years, there is not much point of keeping it a secret any more. Or IS there? Or should we have a change of venue this time?

i cant speak for the NEST staff, but i believe the reason the location is kept secret is for 2 reasons. 1 the privacy of the attendees who dont want to b exposed as a fetishist in their personal life, and 2 so people who didnt pay cant just show up and participate anyway.

Putting money away and looking forward to seeing many friends that I only get to see here, once a year!

Glad you are coming, Joel, but surely you realize that the reason the venue's kept secret until all the prospective guests have registered, paid, and been pre-vetted is for reasons of safety and security?

Otherwise, it's like a teenager putting an open house party invitation on Facebook because his parents are away for the weekend.

Is this example graphic enough for you ?

essentially the same thing i said, just with quite a bit more....whats the word.....danger? behind it.

LOL !!

Hi, Jon. I look forward, as always, to seeing you and Vonni (sp?) at NEST.

What I was trying to say (poorly, I guess) was that I would think we would have to go to a different hotel this year in order to keep things secret. Don't get me wrong, I strongly support the secrecy aspect, but am concerned that, since everybody knows where we have been the last 2 years, the secrecy will be diminished if we return there, and the "un-vetted" will have a fairly accurate "wild guess" as to where we are this year. I really don't know if that would turn out to be a problem or not. But with the group getting so large, that increases those odds.

I personally don't care where we go as long as the room rates stay where they have been (or lower), even if we have to go to a club again for the event. Is that "graphic" enough for you? And, oh yes, I'm sure glad I'm not on Facebook.

Can't Wait

Really psyched for my inaugural, even if to just put faces to names and maybe some beers.

Joel,

IF we are having it at the same venue we have done in the past and if someone "unvetted" shows up, those of us that are DM's, part of the planning or registration will know. We may be a large group, but that is why the NEST Team issues name-tags and such upon registration and everyone knows when they first arrive to check-in with members of the NEST Team.

Those people that just show up "unannounced" or "unvetted" will be directed to those that are trained and equipped to civilly and without causing a public scene politely ask for those persons to leave or other arrangements made.

Hope that explains any worries you may have about "party crashers".

Rob
