i know how addicting RPG's can be. i used to play EVE and let me tell you, i spent countless hours across 2 months mining in boring space to buy a great battleship, just to lose it in 2 minutes because of some idiot space pirates.
I know the feeling, though not in the same way.
In Warhammer, for example, the game is also a modeling hobby. People (well, not everyone, but I do) work hard on their models and put alot of effort into doing a good paintjob so they look fantasic on the tabletop when it comes time for a battle.
Well, all that time and effort (not to mention money) to get everything the way you want it, just to see that favorite unit of yours get destroyed by some kid who doesn't know what he's doing and his models aren't fully painted is almost like a blow to your pride.
On the one hand, you're proud of what you've done. On the other, one of your best works just got it's ass handed to it, and thats never fun. Although, one learns to quickly get over it and used to it, since this game uses dice, and even if you have the best troops available to you, the terrain is being used tactically, and you have the best strategy, the dice are a heavy factor that can weigh in for or against you (regardless of how good....or not a player the other guy is or how weak his troops are in a specific situation).
