So I'm a tech head. I regularly check up on the trends that graphics cards, mobos, everything like, are going through.
Ever so conveniently, after arguing about Microsoft's poorly designed 360, I checked up Tom's Hardware to see a new woe that has begun plaguing the new 360's HDMI ports. I heart Microsoft's produce, normally. In this situation though, I am especially pleased that I went with my PS3 over a 360 (with or without these issues, I still would have picked PS3...I needz mah blues-rays).

It appears that what caused the majority of the original red rings (low grade adhesive that either melted, or was frankly just bad, released heatsinks). Now, the new HDMI ports solder is releasing after a patch, unknown cause for the most part.
I'm not really too concerned about a flame war starting between ps3 v 360 here. I'm just looking for your opinions on what is up with Microsoft having such issues with their system, and more importantly, anybody think they're gonna be putting another warranty extension through?
