LOL. 😀 😀 yeah that's it! they are just too proud to send videos out of the country. all of a sudden they got very proud 2 weeks ago and said to themselves, "where to cool to send tapes internationally."
you are exactly right joby. you feeling ok? 🙂 🙄 🙄 🙄
no. but seriously, i kind of understand what TC is saying but think there might be better ways of dealing with it.

I guessing sarcasm doesn't come across very well!!OOPS! I even put the little eye-rolling smiley to help me out there! Cut a girl some slack. 😛

The other part of my post mentioned understanding the pain of business crossing the ocean. I was simply ointing out that since there ARE always other options, as you mentioned, to keep your customers buying, it almost appears as if it's an ego thing. "We've got enough customers. Those few don't matter." Never claimed to be right, just saying how it looks from this perspective.

Joby...who prefers her tickling live! *wink*

And DAVE, You didn't come across that way, I was just worried that I read ya wrong! I didn't want to step on any toes. Tickle 'em maybe, but not step on 'em! 😉

TIB answered that quite thoroughly in the other thread Joby...

Business decisions are the toughest. Having been in the restaurant biz for almost 15 years, I can only say the fastest way to go OUT of business is to try to please everyone everytime everyday...it's a goal, but at times pushes you into actions and financial areas that can leave you spread way too thin and putting out fires constantly. You do what you have to do to survive, and we all should respect that these decisions aren't made lightly or easily. Q

qjakal! can we hire you to write speaches for us? 🙂 what you wrote above is EXACTLY how we feel and what we're going through. you have a way with words. thanks.

De nada...

Have vocabulary will travel...lol.
ThankYou.gif
Seriously though, I struck out on my own about 12 years ago, leaving the safety net of a large corporate restaurant chain behind, and it's stranger out here than most non businesspeople would ever believe! Happy I did, but the tightrope walking we call being an "independent operator" is indeed a world unto itself. Good Luck, and I'm sure you'll find a reasonable answer eventually...you seem motivated and sincere.

Thanks for pointin' me to that thread, Q. I appreciate it. 🙂

That being said..
After reading the thread, I'm still confused. 😕 Seems this whole thing was a matter of confusion more than malice, but in the end, the customes feel they are being treated like crooks.(Based on the comments I read) Passive behavior on the part of TC has obviously enraged even the people who never wanted to resell a video anyway. That whole situation should use some dialogue.

I was discussing this with a friend, a college student, today and his comment was that after he sells a couple videos on Ebay, he turns around and spends the money on the latest new release. Sounded smart to me. Now he's stuck not buying anymore from this particular company because it will hinder him being able to buy that much more in the future.

In regard to the business side....I personally include a stimpulation when I sell a piece, that I get first "dibs" on "buybacks" should a client decide he or she doesn't want my painting in his or her collection anymore. Sure, it has the potential to cost me, but it's the price I pay to have control over my work. It also allows me to resell to a collector or another interested party.

Creative endeavors are a bit different than the restaurant business in that no one wants to buy your second hand food.😛 *giggle* In entertainment or art, you just have to be prepared to "suck it up" if you want that level of control over your products.

All this thinking hurts my brain, I'm done with this thread I think..lol
Joby

I can understand TC asking "supertickler" to "Move on", forget about it, etc. hell, if I was TC, I would want it to go away, too! (Hence: them not responding to it anymore) This arrogant attitude from them is amazing!!

Arrogent?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but they already addressed the issue, and explained there views and why. Why should he keep posting the same thing?

Because they didn't really address it, they interjected in an argument, left many things open to speculation, and said they wouldn't discuss it anymore. THAT, my friend, is why it shouldn't "go away" that is exactly what they want. If they were in the right, they should have stuck it out and defended it, but apparantly they are just in this for the money, and don't give a rats ass if we like what they have to say or not, since they're "walking away" from the issue.

There's not much more to explain. It seems as if some are not going to feel that this issue has been adressed (beaten) enough until it's changed to suit their arguement.

TC has made it's announcement of it's business choices, and even provided some of the reasons behind them.

Users have voiced their dislike of the new choices.

TC is under no obligation to say or do anything more at this point. It's their company. They have chosen a path, and accepted the results of being on that path.

The topic while not settled, is not moving either. Beating this drum is done.

Thread locked.
