Sure the shaky "amateur" camera work was kinda aggravating, but DAMN, that was one good horror movie. Not quite Japanese good, mind you, but pretty damn good for an American release. The movie got the "scare" formula exactly right. Throughout the course of the film, it grounds the audience in reality, get's them comfortable with the characters and their surroundings, and then...ever so slowly...starts to twist things...starts to start turning the creepy dial up towards 11. Not all at once...but gradually...slowly...step by step...

What really creepy is that, as a ghost hunter myself, a lot of the activity that happens in the movie is activity that has either been captured on film or experienced by investigators.

Very very good. If you want to be scared and/or creeped the hell out, see this movie.

But don't take my word for it....

LOL, I think I will go in this movie and watch the audience instead of the movie. 🙂

I really want to see this but it's not playing in my area.I'm sour. 😡

Count me in! I love anything that has to do with the paranormal. Been fascinated by that stuff since I was a kid and experienced some strange things back then.

Same here..but i'll wait for it to come to video on demand..that way i can hide my eyes like i did during the remake of "Uninvited" and "The Ring"...also i can't sit still long enough to go see a movie..

This is the type of scary movie I love. I wish I could go see it. There is a website that you can go to to demand the movie to be released nationwide. It is at almost 500,000 if it gets to a million then it will be released nationwide. I doubt it will make it but you never know.

It looks like it just opened today in a theater at the Waterfront in Pittsburgh it is not a great theater I wish it had opened at the Pittsburgh Mills instead. The counter is over 800,000 now so it looks like it may actually get a nationwide release soon.

Just saw this movie earlier tonight and it is creepsville. Any fans of scary movies should definitely go check it out. Normally I don't find horror movies very scary, but this one has a way of getting under your skin. I give it 4 out of 4 skulls. 🙂

When i saw the trailer a few weeks ago, i figured it to be another garbage Blair Witch movie. Using sudden jumps and camera views to scare the audience. I'll wait for a good copy comes online to dl it.

It got over 1 million requests. It's now going to have a national release.

Just saw it, and loved it. Also, LOVED how the character Katie was barefoot the ENTIRE movie, with tons and tons of great shots of every type

I just had a feeling someone was going to mention that. 🙄

But I digress, I enjoyed the movie too. IMO, much better than Blair Witch Project.

I'm curious to see all the alternate endings.

Ok....

I saw this last night and LOVED it; it creeped the living poop outta me and I actually had weird dreams last night. My friends who were with me didn't like it nearly as much, they said it wasn't scary and much more should have happened. Personally I like the fact that my own imagination did more than any special effects or predictable, spoon-fed "ghost face in the mirror" gimmicks could have, but that's just me.

And good lord did I want to do rude things to that girl; finally some Juicy Curvy on the screen :hungry:

saw it the other night and fucking loved it! called heather and said, and i quote: "you're never allowed to see this movie!" she'll have nightmares for the rest of her fucking life! lol and that's no bullshit.

but the movie was awesome. very creepy and scary, in my opinion. a great movie to release just before halloween 🙂

I went to see it tonight. It was worth the wait for me. I loved it. A great movie that gave me chills. The ending seemed to be strange and the consensus between my friends was that there wasn't something right about the ending. Mainly because it was cg which is the exact opposite of the rest of the film. I hope they put the alternate endings on the dvd.

I saw it tonight with some friends. It's absolutely terrific. It's creepy because it appears plausible that something like this could happen. And I speak as one who once lived in a house with a poltergist.

I noticed early in the movie that the actress (Katie Featherston) was constantly barefoot. Her boyfriend (Micah Sloat) comments that she has nice feet. I certainly agree with him!

My daughter saw this movie on Friday night and refused to stay in her apartment alone--she stayed at her friend's house. I'll be waiting for it to come to the redbox; by then I'll be out of my "phase" and not so emotionally charged that I can't enjoy it.

Have fun moviegoers!
