People being creeped out by a foot fetish

Anyone else not really understand why so many people think of it as legitimately creepy? I thought of this topic because I saw a snapchat of Jennette Mccurdy getting a pedicure with the caption "For all the creeps with foot fetishes" and it really struck me as kind of odd that many people do think of it as creepy. Because it is just another body part and it's really one of the most common fetishes.

Especially since many people like to show off their bodies, but feet are considered to be weird. I feel like checking out a girls breasts or ass would be just as "creepy" as checking out her feet, but the girl would label the former as fine and the second as wrong. With Jennette Mccurdy, she released almost nude photos of herself a year or two ago and clearly doesn't have a problem with people looking at those features, but thinks people liking her feet are creepy. What's the difference what someone is into? And I think pretty much everyone likes good looking feet, not that everyone has a foot fetish but if you have the option of your SO having good looking feet or really gross feet, wouldn't literally everyone prefer the former?

I guess it's just interesting to me that one body part, and really one of the non "dirty" body parts being admired is so weird and wrong to so many people. Thinking a tickle fetish is weird I can understand more, not because I think it's weird but because many people really hate being tickled so I can see them being uncomfortable with people who love it. But just a simple foot fetish is an odd thing to be creeped out by.

Now if someone is being harassed about their feet, THEN it's creepy. I have seen people hound celebrities about showing their feet and the people say they want to smell them and lick them or something, so that I can understand someone being creeped out by, but not by just a foot fetish itself.

And last thing, I'm absolutely not saying every single woman likes having their body checked out, because of course that's not the case. In fact I'd say most woman would be creeped out if they someone staring at their breasts or ass. It's just more the general idea that those things are kind of acceptable in the general setting to like, but feet aren't.

Sorry for the long post, I'm not angry about it or anything, I've just never really thought about it before and found it to he an interesting thing to think about.

It's because feet in general are disgusting and gross...to most people. So to those particular people, the thought of someone sucking on their toes or licking their soles is dirty and weird. But I think it can also be a lack of understanding. I think that society has attached a negative stigma towards foot fetishes that makes people naturally dislike them. People learn that foot fetishes are supposed to be weird and creepy. Why? I don't know and I wish that wasn't the case but it is what it is.

Well I think it might be because feet touch the ground more often then most body parts. Plus feet have been known to sweat in shoes and smell. People associate it with that I think. Plus, movies always portray the creepy guy sniffing women's shoes doesn't help.

Riddle me this......why do they get pedicures and paint their toes?

I was on the subway about 10 years ago and a woman I saw, every morning stood in front of me. I speak Polish and this single mom would sometimes ride with her son in the morning and we would all talk, in Polish to each other, so this wasn't a total stranger. I offered her my seat, but she said no, so I just sat, half asleep with my head down. Looking down, I saw she was wearing sandals with flowers on them, but, I continued to ride, half asleep with my head down.
About three stops later, she kicks me in the leg and says to stop being a pervert. I was confused. I was asleep by then and the kick woke me up. I asked her what she was talking about and she said I was a pervert for staring at her feet.
My response was that I was asleep, with my head down on a packed subway, so I had no other option but to look in the direction of her feet. My second point, which plays into Lifeseeker's post was, "What did you pay, $200 for the shoes?" Why? Because they look nice? So why is it wrong for someone to look at them???"
She didn't say another word and an old lady on the other side of the car quietly clapped for me. 🙂

Let me play devil's advocate for a moment. I think many female celebrities are constantly getting messages from foot guys asking to see their feet. I'm a foot guy myself, and even I get embarrassed by how some of us behave. I don't think guys without the fetish are constantly sending messages to female celebrities asking them to get topless or naked. That could be what she's reacting to, and if so, she has a point. That kind of behavior is creepy.

Another possibility is that she's playing along with us. Many foot guys have submissive fantasies, and they like some verbal humiliation while they're playing with a woman's feet. Her tweet could be a playful jab in that direction.

Now for your other points, I've talked with my girlfriend about that subject many times. I'm as baffled about it as you are. Take the "feet are dirty" aspect for example. How many women like oral? How many women like having their breasts licked and sucked? Think about what else goes on with or around those parts. Breasts are used to feed babies and the vagina is rather close to where she pees and poops. Yet those aren't disgusting and feet are?

I think women who reject guys with a foot fetish are missing out on a lot, but that's their problem, not mine. 🙂

Great question with an obvious answer, to make their feet attractive.

It is so sad that the most common portrayal of men with erotic interest in feet in movies or TV shows is that of a creepy pervert. 🙁

As I'm reading these posts, this thought came to me.

Women think feet are gross, and get pedicures, and paint their toes, for the same reason as the things they do with other body parts.

They wear, sexy revealing.. dresses.. or pants which put the focus on their asses, for guys with ass fetishes, because they want to attract attention to themselves. Then, if something happens, which they dont like. IE a foot guy is staring at their feet if they are wearing sandals, they can turn around, and call him a pervert for looking at their feet.

Maybe I'm wrong, but this is just how I see it.

The problem is it is portrayed in a negative way, whether it is the hopeless media that doesn't seem to understand anything at all about people, or the 1 or 2 bad eggs that randomly walk around sucking womens toes because they can't control themself. People have had a foot fetish for years, it's only really thanks to the birth of the world wide communication web that it has become more of a public knowledge.

I suppose the more open minded one is, the more likely they will accept peoples kinks and fetishes.
But at the same time, you should never push it with someone.

Personally, I never gave women's feet a second look. But after participating in this forum for a few years, I'm starting to see the attraction.

Everyone has their likes, dislikes, hard limits. I know, for me, I hate talking about feet here because a lot of foot fetishists make you feel like they're beating their cock into submission as you answer their rapid fire questions about size, shape, and sensitivity.

I've met other foot fetishists before and some are very humble but so many give us a bad reputation. They attack woman about their feet and have 0 control over themselves

For those of you in this thread, like me, who are foot fetishists and are bitter or disillusioned at how we are portrayed in media or in society in general, get over it. Rule No. 1 on the Foot Fetishists' Code should be: Society is under no obligation to accommodate, indulge or embrace our fetish. That being said -- society also should not be going out of its way to portray us as freaks. The "feet dirty/touching the ground/sweating in shoes" excuse for singling us out doesn't wash considering that ground zero for sexual body parts/erogenous zones are the genitals, and what are these genitals? The vagina -- a mass of moist, sweaty skin flaps, often with bushy hair around it, and a moist, warm, eternally swampy opening -- and the penis, an organ used for excreting urine and sperm, hairy, often with a buildup of slime called "smegma" associated with it. And yet, a common, popular practice is oral pleasuring of these areas. Not saying they're necessarily more or less dirty, but please don't try and tell me they are way more clean than feet.

Well chicago, what do you fantasize about when you turn on mama's little helper, so I know what not to talk about around you? :laughhard: :rowfull: JK! I'm sure there's a lot of truth in what you're saying...

This is all just my experience, so take it with however much salt as you like: Most women like a good foot rub. It can lead to all kinds of other things. What creeps them out is someone who has no sexual interest in them above the ankles. Lots of guys have favorite parts, and most women don't have a problem with that, but it skeeves a person out to think that someone would rather rather jack on their feet, with their feet, or just talking about their feet than do anything else. It's not exactly promising them a good time.

I thought of this topic because I saw a snapchat of Jennette Mccurdy getting a pedicure with the caption "For all the creeps with foot fetishes" and it really struck me as kind of odd that many people do think of it as creepy. Because it is just another body part and it's really one of the most common fetishes.

90% sure this particular instance is meant as a joke. If she seriously thought foot fetishists were necessarily creepy she wouldn't have posted a picture of her feet dedicated to them. I think it was meant to be endearing and a bunch of people took it the wrong way.

Unfortunately, I think many groups are demonized by the very worst of their membership. People think of sales people as slimy because of the bad telemarketers or used-car sales-folk. People think that certain dog breeds are bad because of a few aholes who raise their dogs to be vicious. And folks with a Foot Fetish are no different in how they're demonized.

I personally don't believe the stigma comes from feet themselves. It's not that feet are dirty. Or that feet are weird. It's that some foot fetishists are insane. And unfortunately they are often very publicly insane. The worst of the foot fetish community have occasionally been very openly creepy about their tastes. Touching or photographing women in public without their consent. Stealing shoes. Behavior that one doesn't often see with other fetish groups - or at least it seems that way to me.

You don't often hear that a spanking fetishist is swatting women at random. Or that an ass worshiping fetishist is dogging celebrities to find out what color their butthole is. Often people with sexual fetishes keep them pretty well under wraps. The worst of the foot fetishists have been known to be very comfortable with some pretty 'creepy' behaviors. And sadly the entire community takes the wrap for it. As many have said - you see it in movies all the time. Want a guy to seem creepy - give him a random foot fetish.

Is it fair to stigmatize an entire sexual preference for the bad behavior of a few outliers? No. It's not.

Does it really mean that there's something inherently "wrong" with foot fetishists? Of course not. They're some of the most awesome people I know.

But public opinion is a fickle thing. And having the foot fetish community represented by the weirdest, loudest, most insane members of that community is a reality that sometimes hurts.

I guess the best thing to do is just be cool. If you have a thing for feet...be cool. If someone is dissing foot fetishists...change their opinion...but when you do it...

...you do it cool.

(Yes - that part of the post should be read in your best Sam Jackson voice).

Just my little humble opinion,

B

Just being honest about my feelings as pertains to this thread... Some people don't like being talked to and made to feel like they are being used for masturbatory purposes.

It's better if the post is long, that way you allow yourself to express greater detail, and make it interesting to read 🙂
Anyway, you brought up a really good point : about girls not minding so much about flaunting our breasts / bodies, yet being weirded out by a foot fetish.
Part of the reason I think this is, is because of society. AND because of dopes like McCurdy!!
~ ~ Why did she have to say that? She put down a lot of people, who now may feel guilty or ashamed looking at her feet after reading that caption. She's damn insensitive.
Sadly, she's also a celebrity and so the millions of people who saw that, now have the idea that a foot fetish is creepy.
- - - See the problem ??

Well, I don't have a foot fetish, but I don't think it's gross , weird or anything like that.
Plus If somone told me I have cute feet, or complimented my toenail polish or something, I think that's nice and flattering 🙂

HOWEVER, you added another good point:
I have seen people hound celebrities about showing their feet and the people say they want to smell them and lick them or something....,

It's people like that who give foot fetishists a bad name.
That, and again as i said before - society, plus dopey insensitive celebrities like Jeannete McCurdy.
Gosh I dislike her for doing that.

Idk how you can say you understand why other people think tickling is a weird fetish...Cus, I don't!
It feels sooo awesome, and being tickled is the most sexiest thing in the whole world! <3
I might be a tad bias about that lol
But I honestly don't know how people can not like the feeling of being tickled......They're the weird ones!

Well, I have one to I have to admit. The reason is probably the fact that feet stink. And many people don't like that, so that's why almost everybody finds it gross.

I'd love to know where I or anyone else said we're bitter or think society should accodomate to us. Go ahead and point that out. I had just never really thought about this before and thought it would make an interesting discussion to see what other people thought. No need to be so hostile and put words in people's mouths.

It could be a joke, it just made me think about the topic and how a lot of people do actually view it that way. That picture was just a good example, it's not like I'm mad at her personally.

Riddle me this......why do they get pedicures and paint their toes?

well to some that isn't enough. I don't have a problem with women's feet I think some are very attractive but I do know that there are some women who can't even stand their feet being touched and consider their own feet nasty...go figure.

I hate talking about feet here because a lot of foot fetishists make you feel like they're beating their cock into submission as you answer their rapid fire questions about size, shape, and sensitivity.

See, you're aware of the fetish. I think a lot of women aren't. Until they are, they view some of these guys with no contempt. I remember sitting next to a female friend on the metro. Some guy was starring at her feet. She had on some revealing shoes that showed some toes. She noticed him and commented that the guy liked her shoes. I told her, maybe, but given the amount of time and degree he was starring, more likely he's into feet and turned on by either your feet or the shoes or both. And this creeped her out and her attitude towards the guy immediately changed. She became aware.

Things like boobs and ass are kinda a given. Women know that guys stare at them. Some women like it in varying doses and others don't like it at all. The less socially acceptable or "weird" the body part, the more revulsion it tends to get. Particularly if the media reinforces a stereotype. For the feet crowd, it's that skeevy perv that sniffs women's shoes. Granted, those guys exist. I worked with one who got fired for stealing dozens of his fellow female employee's shoes. It's not reflective of the whole group, but it only takes a few to give everyone a bad name and basically creep women out.

Is it fair to stigmatize an entire sexual preference for the bad behavior of a few outliers? No. It's not.

Life ain't fair. It just is. If you understand that, then you can approach a person you're interested in armed with the knowledge that they may have preconceived notions. Every vanilla girl I ever dated was not into fetishes at all. Some actually were creeped out by some. But in addition to "coming out" to them, I made sure that I dispelled any preconceptions and gave them an accurate depiction of me. Since it wasn't those other guys with fetishes they were interested in dating. The reactions were always positive, ranging from acceptance to enjoyment. None ever developed a fetish, but some came to really enjoy it. I know that not everyone has had such good luck with men and women they were interested in, but if you are honest and talk to someone about it, many times, they can be understanding. This is my personal experience.
