Anyone else not really understand why so many people think of it as legitimately creepy? I thought of this topic because I saw a snapchat of Jennette Mccurdy getting a pedicure with the caption "For all the creeps with foot fetishes" and it really struck me as kind of odd that many people do think of it as creepy. Because it is just another body part and it's really one of the most common fetishes.
Especially since many people like to show off their bodies, but feet are considered to be weird. I feel like checking out a girls breasts or ass would be just as "creepy" as checking out her feet, but the girl would label the former as fine and the second as wrong. With Jennette Mccurdy, she released almost nude photos of herself a year or two ago and clearly doesn't have a problem with people looking at those features, but thinks people liking her feet are creepy. What's the difference what someone is into? And I think pretty much everyone likes good looking feet, not that everyone has a foot fetish but if you have the option of your SO having good looking feet or really gross feet, wouldn't literally everyone prefer the former?
I guess it's just interesting to me that one body part, and really one of the non "dirty" body parts being admired is so weird and wrong to so many people. Thinking a tickle fetish is weird I can understand more, not because I think it's weird but because many people really hate being tickled so I can see them being uncomfortable with people who love it. But just a simple foot fetish is an odd thing to be creeped out by.
Now if someone is being harassed about their feet, THEN it's creepy. I have seen people hound celebrities about showing their feet and the people say they want to smell them and lick them or something, so that I can understand someone being creeped out by, but not by just a foot fetish itself.
And last thing, I'm absolutely not saying every single woman likes having their body checked out, because of course that's not the case. In fact I'd say most woman would be creeped out if they someone staring at their breasts or ass. It's just more the general idea that those things are kind of acceptable in the general setting to like, but feet aren't.
Sorry for the long post, I'm not angry about it or anything, I've just never really thought about it before and found it to he an interesting thing to think about.
