Do you know people like this? They hate everything to do with tickling simply because they are ticklish. They might hate being tickled, but even tickling others is also a big no-no. Do they just not want to tickle in fear of being tickled back??

I always wondered what causes such a hatred of this little thing call "tickling"

:wiseowl:

That describes every girlfriend I've ever had, lol. Very frustrating! Of course, they wouldn't tickle me either because they didn't want to get tickled back. I don't understand it, tickle fights are so much fun.

Do you know people like this?

Yeah, a lot. They usually don't tickle anybody because they do not want to be tickled back which is totally understandable.

Some people got a lot of it in childhood as torture or control, I just cut them some slack and don't push the issue.

It is believed that "children love to be tickled" and as a consequence parents love to tickle them silly believing that because they're laughing, they like it.
Meanwhile older siblings love to use ticklling to control and torture their younger siblings.
They know they can getaway with it because parents view it as playing not abuse no matter how far the older sibling(s) go.
This leads some extremely ticklish people traumatized for life.
I heard about a survey that said that a lot of people feel that older siblings used tickling as a form of punishment and revenge.
When I was a kid, I recall a friend who would tickle his younger half-brother without mercy until he did his bidding (cleaning his room, doing his chores for him, etc.). It always worked.

As a ler, there's nothing I love more than über-ticklish people!
The kind who scream and jump if you just poke them in the right place.

But of course I don't tickle those who've been traumatized ot otherwise hate it.
I'm not a masochist, that's a whole different fetish.

Yeah, people that have been traumatized by being tickled to excess in their younger years pretty much are totally against tickling of any form for the rest of whenever. Once that has happened to them, there's not much you can do to change their mind. I've had a few relationships that the gals were that way. I tried everything to help them get over it to no avail. It's sad, really. I liken it to kids beating up little kids and making them totally afraid of everyone for the rest of their lives. Not much different.

I know a lady who has tickle phobia and also is very disgusted when her feet (pretty nice) are touched... sad

We have to remember that the whole reason somebody decided to set up this website for us is because not everybody's into tickling. We have an interest that's not shared by many people so this forum is here so we can find each other. When you enjoy tickling as much as we do it's hard for us to understand how somebody wouldn't like it but a lot of people don't. We just have to accept the fact that we're a little bit different.

Yes, I have known people like this. One possible cause is that they got tickle-tortured until they couldn't breathe as a child and the bad experience turned them against tickling forever.

I must agree that it seems the when and how of one's introduction to tickling is crucial to the attitude about it. I can't recall being tickled as a child so I was neutral about it, but I did develop a foot fetish in high school. My wife, being the oldest sibling in her family, didn't get tickled much, and only tickled a little. But in college, when she was tickled during an initiation, it probably developed a healthy attitude because she chose to join that group, she liked the people she was with, it was a group bonding experience, and they all laughed about it afterwards. So when we added that to our fooling around, she wasn't coming from a perspective of having been victimized by tickling in the past.

I've always countered their aversion to tickling with "Well, I think you just haven't tickled properly!" or the like 😉 ~~ yea, it never works, but it makes 'em smile

Caligula66: if you do it properly, and stop when they ask, they do... but again, you have to let them be in control, as it were.

However, this isn't the forum for this discussion, so let's move on.

O yeah...guys say that all the time...mostly about anal sex though!

I think this thread was started about my girlfriend!!! Lol!!!
She can't stand to be tickled but twice in the last 2 weeks has
Spontaneously tickled me. Once she just started out of the blue for
No apparent reason, not that I minded but was just in shock by it!!!
The other time was last night, she was rubbing and scratching my back
And got too close to my waist and sides and it tickled like crazy!!!
She even teased me by saying "I'm only scratching your back, why are you laughing?"
It really turned me on and I think the teasing got me even hotter!!!

Other than those two times has never tickled me, or let me tickle her. She even literally cried if I tickled her even by accident, she just absolutely hates tickling, but I think she enjoyed tickling me last night even though it didn't last anywhere long enough!!!!

That's a pretty closed minded remark. Shows your lack of empathy.

How can you draw that conclusion from a 4 word post? It's just a comment in general. It doesn't really imply that the poster lacks empathy for someone traumatized by tickling.

Most women I've known who hate tickling say it's because they had a parent, uncle, big brother, cousin, etc. that used to tickle them to tears when they were younger. Totally understandable, guess it brings back too many bad memories.

I do know LOTS of people who label tickling as RED (code for fetishest that it will never happen,) and of course it makes me sad. However, most of them are more than happy to tickle me as part of a scene, especially since it gets a huge reaction out of me, and I spends a lot of time around sadists.

Can we trade lives? 😉

Most I've ran into had very bad experiences with tickling and/or being tickled and it was deep in their psyche. I've recounted before about one girl in college who told me flat out she hated being tickled and a year later helped a friend tickle the beejezus out of me.

Another young lady told me, repeatedly, that she hated being tickled. The only reason I chose to ignore her (I truly believe that if someone "hates" it its best to leave it at that and respect their wishes) was that she took great delight in getting me whenever she could. Over the course of a few years she stopped "hating" it. She'd just laugh and yell at me when I was done in a good-natured way.

It always comes down to how well you know someone and respecting their wishes and space.
