Ross planned to buy the struggling companies he had talked to both men about, whether they were involved or not.
Ross got copies of both companies financial statements, and detailed layouts of their bank debt, and other financial obligations.
Ross kept playing around with the numbers.
The problem was.. if he bought the companies, and some unexpected creditor came along and sued the companies themselves for unpaid debts, Ross might have to file Bankruptcy for both companies, which would be a completely lost cause, and would make the purchase of both companies a terrible business decision.
It might turn out to be a far degree of work for two struggling companies, that ultimately might lead to nothing, or a financial loss for Ross. Ross could off course write off the loss if the deal went bad, but the risk might be too great.
Unfortunately, Ross's massive ego, would not let him drop the subject.
Ross gave the detailed paperwork to both his accounting department and his attorneys.
One day Ross's attorney , a close friend of Ross, called Ross on his cell phone, almost in amazement.
"Ross, I know that I work for you, even though I consider you a personal friend. With all the success you have, and with the way RK Mini is expanding, why in the hell do you want to play around with two piece of shit companies with financial statements like this? I know that you have to take it easy due to your health, that Vic is running RussShell, and that RK Mini may not be as interesting work wise as your former company, but as your attorney, and as your friend, I would advise you to walk away from this deal" Ross's lawyer said.
"I know I should, both because of the companies themselves, and potentially being in partnership with Reese and White. I can't help it. I just think this can be figured out" Ross replied.
"Okay, you're my client, and I want this to work for you. However, this is going to take a great degree of time, and figuring out, and may not be worth the time or the risk" Ross's lawyer replied.
Ross approached the owners of the companies with a proposal. Pay off the bank debt in full. Give them a small "finder;s fee" of a nominal amount for doing the deal with him, and seeing if he could come to a deal with the companies creditors for a fraction of the companies debt in total.
The owners did not like the proposal, but they almost had no choice.
After that meeting Ross met with Bruce Reese and Roy White.
"You know these companies. This was my proposal to their owners. If we can pull this off, fine, if not, then we walk away. If you guys dont want to be active in this deal, you can hire two other people to watch out for your 30% each. Your choice" Ross said.
"Sounds fair" Roy White said,.
The deal was figured out, and the closing was supposed to be the next day.

"You are going to do that terrible deal, aren;t you?" Kayley said, trying to stay calm but clearly irritated and upset.
"It looks that way. The details have not been worked out with all the parties involved, but we are trying to pull something off" Ross said.
"At least you told me the truth this time. Just so you know, I go on record as saying this may be one of the worst business decisions you've ever made since I know you. When you started RossShell, I was not happy, but it's worked out wonderfully. The Borgier situation was not your fault, you got out of that, and now George works for you. You might end up paying for this one. You can write off the money, but you are in with two guys you admittedly can't stand, and you may put in a ton of work for nothing. I dont see what you are trying to accomplish, but I will stick to what I know, teaching, and keep my mouth shut" Kayley said.
