Hey guys and gals, I'm finally unlurking because I found a great game while I was looking through the good ol' interwebs.

This game isn't entirely about tickling, but there is quite a bit of tickling content so far.

This game is also mostly text based with a few pictures and a dungeon crawler movement

This game currently uses RAGS (which you can download at his blog on the right of the page), however due to RAGS being impossible to make work (my biased opinion and his apparently as well) Earl learned coding and is working on making the entire game in his own independent format.

The game is finished with RAGS at patch .53. So if you want the entire game in RAGS format its done. Earl's newest patch .614 is in his newest format that he made himself, but its only the very beginning of the game so far.

In Earl's words, "Shield High is a text ero-RPG focused around a highly improbable school, and the shenanigans that occur within. The plot is difficult to summarize at best, so instead I'll settle for a content run-down. Shield High's content varies from pathetically tame, such as girls merely being stripped to their underwear, to blatant sexual slavery and gang rape. All of the content is entirely lesbian, in fact, I don't think there's even going to be a male character in there. On average the content will usually be focused around public humiliation, with occasional forays into outright BDSM."

NOW WHAT YOU'VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR. The game works by you trying to take control of your opponent through three different grappling techniques. Once you have control of your opponent, you get options to do different things to their pinned bodies with each move giving you a different scene for each grapple. So, in each fight you get three different ways to tickle your opponent and your opponent has three different ways to tickle you along with possible counter tickles. So, about 12 different tickle scenes per fight. These scenes are pretty well done and are decently sized. There are quite a few fights throughout the game, so there will be quite a bit of tickling. Also, there is a way to play with the girls that you enslave which I haven't seen yet because of not being able to use RAGS, which will probably lead to some more glorious tickles. Upon winning or losing some fights or submitting to your enemies, you can administer or receive punishment. I haven't seen it yet, but judging on the fact that tickling is a main move of attack in this game there will probably be at least one tickle punishment, probably more.

To win the fights, you need to strip off the clothes of your opponent, but you cannot remove their clothes until you have softened them up with some tickling, spanking, groping, etc.. to tease them you need to get them into a grapple which can be countered. If you get countered, you get get to either thrash to get away, resist to reduce damage, counter them with what move they used to tease you, or try to reverse the grapple.

Ummmm... Random facts to know time:

If anyone here gets RAGS to work, you should make a post explaining it to everyone, as it is beyond my feeble technical abilities.

I probably left out something important or got something wrong, so feel free to correct me and spread the knowledge.

Once again, I did not make this game, Pudding Earl did. So go to his blog and drop a few comments. (possibly inform him of how great his tickle scenes are and how he should write more. huehuehue), but seriously he might actually listen to any thoughts that we have if we show a lot of interest in the game. MIGHT. I can't speak for him.

I'll attempt to post here and inform you of when he updates his blog, but as I am not him the updates here will be a bit behind.

I tried downloading it and installing. But the installing was taking forever and i didn't trust it. So i canceled it. I guess i'll just wait till this game is in some format i can use.

Installation
Used Sandboxie (free) to ensure none of the shit it was installing actually affected my system. Run things you don't trust in a sandboxed environment (or virtual machine, if more paranoid) to be a bit safe. Everything mentioned in this post, I ran sandboxed.

Downloaded RagsSetup.2.0.0.exe from the RAGS download page. Virustotal says it's clean. It installed fine.

Downloaded shield high from Mediafire, per a link on on one of the pudding games blog posts. virustotal.com says it's clean.

Images
The resource files are XNB, meaning Shield High (and probably RAGS) is built on XNA. You can pull PNG (graphics format) files out of the XNB files using this tool designed to extract the images from Terraria's XNB files. virustotal.com says it too is clean.

Dialog / Scenes
Dialog examined is in Shield High.exe. Searched for words like "tickle," "feet," and "foot." to see whether there were foot tickling scenes. There weren't. The phrase "climbs to her feet" came up a lot, though. SPOILERS FOLLOWThere are a few upperbody tickle scenes involving characters named Karen and Sasha, but they weren't especially long or detailed.SPOILERS END

Reaction: This game engine is utterly unbearable. The scenes also did a poor job of catering to tickle fans. I could not bring myself to play this for more than a few minutes, and my sifting through the dialog suggests I wouldn't have been rewarded for sticking with it, anyway.

Reaction: Holy shit. This game engine is unbearable. However good his writing or any puzzles may actually be, it is couched in an unmistakably horrendous system.

Is RAGS really that bad?

I guess we know why he's remaking the game in his own format then.




Perhaps the tickling content is only in the new version then. That was the only version that I was able to use. I had assumed that they would have the same content, but perhaps not.

Either RAGS is that bad, or what he did with RAGS is that bad. Whatever it is, the experience is utterly abominable. It's like a crippled version of an infocom game.

The current incarnation of the game has MUD/infocom style movement. Instead of typing letters, you click green squares mapped to cardinal directions, up, down, and combinations of cardinals (NE, SE, SW, NW). See lower left corner of this screenshot:

When a square is green, I believe it is supposed to indicate that one can go in that direction. It's still awkward.


Another, separate annoyance: you can't repeatedly inspect or talk to girls, so if you accidentally clicked too quickly or want to check back on something, the option isn't there.

There is a lot to dislike about the current game system. To call it obtuse would be a gross understatement.


To be quite honest, if he's making his own format, he's going to spend a lot of time reinventing the wheel. Some research would go a long way. Checking on renai engines, text game engines, or even just abusing something like RPGMaker would save him a lot of effort that could better go towards building his game, instead of building a framework in which to house his game.

The art is also massively distorted. See the girl in the screenshot up there? Her internal assets file looks like this:

So, basically, she's awkwardly scaled down, without ratio preservation, into that tiny box, and then cropped.

The base image doesn't show up using a reverse Google Images Search, though. That means he probably made (or comissioned) it. It's better than custom art I've seen in some other games, so there's some hope in that department.

Maybe we should all come together and pray to the great Donger in the sky that he does improve his system and figure all that shiznatch out. This appears to be an early beta of his new format, he might improve some things.
 
If you want him to make the game better, compile a list of stuff you'd like improved and let him know as early as possible. This will make it less likely he builds on top of something shaky.
 
Seems that might be the case.

And you don't need to add spaces to those urls. That's just a thing done for youtube since they commonly delete videos that get a lot of traffic from adult sites.
 
Even though from what I can tell this game is... a work in progress, it's still good that he posted this to give us info on non tickle theater tickle games, as I feel like they DO exist, I just can never find them.

To tell the truth, I'm not even sure HOW I found this game. Like seriously, no idea. I was also kind of worried about posting it because it wasn't a completely tickle based game, so this is nice to hear.

About compiling a list of improvements, I'm kind of iffy on that even though Lurk's reasoning is solid, because I don't really want to tell him how to do his baby project. I think that learning coding to work on making his game better was probably a large undertaking and I don't want to hurt his feelings or his self-confidence. He could be really proud of what he has accomplished. You just never know. Perhaps I'll ask him if he wants a list of suggestions first, but I won't be able to do that until later tonight or tommorow. I'm pretty swamped with things to do right now.

That would probably be best. As a programmer, I can say I certainly love feedback, including requests for improvement, but nothing kills my motivation/pride faster then getting a list of improvements I have no idea how to implement.
 
Ok, run down on the game for everyone. First, the main download (6.0-wherever) is on his own engine. IT has far less content as he hasn't transferred everything over yet. The older download, 5.3, is the one that requires you to download RAGS.

Few issues with the RAGS Link on the site, but before that, a note. This game features tickling in the fight scenes ONLY! I've played through as far as he has gone in the RAGS version, and the only difference with the tickling scenes is a few minor word tweaks. It's far from a terrible game or anything, but it's not a tickling game. That said, it also features (For those that care) exactly 0 foot tickling. If that doesn't stop you, then here's a few notes for playing.

That one solves a few issues with running RAGS in Windows 8. Once downloaded, install it. Shouldn't take long. Then, download the 5.3 download from his site (Here's the link: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?md94tj8krz8zz23).

In the game, it looks confusing but it's actually fairly easy, if not very plain and simplistic. First, it's advisable that you click the "Help" button at the top, then the "Quick Help" button. IT's a quick laydown of how this works. Basic premise on controls: Just about every action is done with a right click and selection of an item from a drop down menu. Everything you can click (Except the player names) is highlighted in green. The posted map on the first post of this thread is a good thing to reference to when trying to find places. When all your classes are done, you can move down to "Front of School" and go home by right clicking the room icon (As stated, it is highlighted in green when you can do it.)

NPC notes: To talk to character, gaze over at the character list on the right side of the screen. Right click any name to "Examine" or "Talk". These will NOT always be available, and some girls you just can't ever talk to.

I think I've covered most of it. I'll try to stay on top of this thread to help out those interested in the game. Peace! ^_^

I didn't realise you were a fellow code monkey! And yeah, it does get a bit depressing when you get given shit to do that you don't know how.... or when you come up with an idea that you can't make work! (Like my idea for a cool lighting puzzle in LH.... fuck the light scripts!)

Thanks to RLaine I was able to play one of the few routes of the game last night and I can confirm that there is in fact at least one foot tickling scene that doesn't take place in the fights. I'll post a hint below so that I don't spoil anything to anyone who doesn't want to know where it is, but truth be told you probably won't find it if you don't read the hint. Its pretty outrageous. Oh yeah its not that long either, but it exists and hints at more in the future

The scene is with Stacy, her sister, and Jessica. To get to Stacy, you will get an invitation to fight her sometime in week five depending on the route that you are currently on. When you get to the fight, you have to lose and become her slave. After returning to school, you need to find her in room 3c where she tells you that she wants to play a game with you after school everyday. You have to play the game with her like literally 8 times until she finally asks you what her favorite fetish is and if you answer feet, it leads into a foot worship and tickle scene. I'm not sure if previous answers affect this, I don't think so though.

As RLaine mentioned you're using the wrong version. You're using the standalone version, not the RAGS version. I've played the RAGS version for a few hours now, and while its light on the tickling content, I do enjoy it so far. Nothing cropped, and the interface is okay to use. If it had some more hotkeys I'd have no complaints at all.

I can confirm this after trying it out. The trick is to win the guessing game 4 times in a row. I had won against Stacy the first go through without any real trouble, so I never noticed that she's the only person that tickles your feet when she tickles in the fight. Good catch! 🙂
 
Unfortunately,

It seems that Earl just broke up with his girlfriend and is pretty depressed about it. Poor guy. So he's announced that he is going on hiatus for an unknown amount of time while he gets himself together.

There were two updates before this announcement, but they weren't content driven. So I didn't post about them.

If anyone has any extra girls hanging about from their harem, you should send them over to Earl. Nothing mends a broken heart like sexy ladies.

Earl is back with an untested beta for the next chapter of his game!

I have no idea if this is actually new content or stuff transcribed from his old version into his new version as I won't be able to try it out for a few days, but its probably new if the first bit was anything to go by.

The link to his site to get the new chapter is on the first page, and he warns that this chapter is not bugtested, but a new download will be out in a few days with the fixes.
 
There's a cotent update, but chrome threw up a big 'ol red flag and says that it is a virus.
