Why I'm proud to be the Queen Bitch
Well TummyTickler I wear that name proudly because it's so opposite my personality (most of the time). Let me tell you the story behind it. I'll keep it as short as I can.
I was dubbed the Queen Bitch at the racetrack during a motorcycle racing test day. I was running the event from the re-entry point in the hot pit lane. There was a problem with registation (this was the thursday before a 3 day HUGE event.) and the 250's didn't get registered in time for the first session. I got agreement from the track to put their session at the end of the day. I announced many times during the day for the 250's to come up, give me their name and number and we'd put them out at the end. (They were already getting 3 sessions but everyone else got 4.
End of the day. I have 45 bikes in the pit lane and 25 bikes on my list. I sorted out the 600's and 750's and sent 250's out on course. One 600 rider (well known in racing) argued with me about him not being allowed out. We don't mix classes. After much time of nastiness, me saying NO repeatedly, and him calling me every name in the book he left only to proceed down the service lane, back into the hot pit lane at the far end and he came up the pit lane shifting the gears and ready to blow by me. I stood my ground. It was take out my knees or stop. He stopped! I then lost my composure and read him the riot act telling him that if he ever verbally abused me or any of my workers again I'd have him barred from the track (and I have the power to do that!) He was rather tall and I'm short so at one point I told him if I was gonna yell at him I need to be eye to eye so he had to be on his knees. After his being flustered he finally left after more name calling and flipping me off.
My ex-husband, son, and many dear friends were all around and I received a round of applause for maintaining my relative calm while dressing him down. When I got back to the campground, after having a meeting with the rider's manager, I was escorted to my "throne". A lawn chair with a note...."Reserved for Jan - Queen Bitch - Just say No!. I also received a huge bouquet of flowers the following morning delivered to the Race Control Tower from the Rider with an apology.
So although being a "bitch" isn't normally a good thing... In this case it works. I've had that nickname for about 15 years now and everyone at the track calls me QB, the Queen, or Your Majesty! It's all in fun.

I DO understand how you got the name, QB! But knowing you, let me just say it is a misnomer if ever there was one! AND, I remember that in high school everyone said BITCH meant "Babe In Total Control of Herself", so in that sense, how COULD it be a bad thing?
