quick, cheap and easy, and effective (!) mechanical tickling device

A few weeks ago, I built a quick, cheap and easy, and effective (!) mechanical tickling device.

Went to my local hardware store, and bought a long screw/bolt, 2 wide washers that fit the screw/bolt, and a nut for the screw/bolt – I chose a wing-nut. See the first photo.



I put the two washers on the screw/bolt and added the nut. Before tightening the nut I arranged feathers, quill side in, in a circle around and in between the washers. I chose shorter, stiffer feathers. Then, I tightened the nut. See the second photo.



I then inserted the end of the screw/bolt in my power driver/drill and tightened the chuck on the screw/bolt. See the third photo.



And then came the fun part… I tied Mrs. TC to our bed – naked and spread-eagled. I can report that the device, worked quite well on her feet, toes, underarms, nipples and between her legs. Indeed, as I was using it on her in that last spot, she warned me, “I think I’m getting your feathers wet.”

Nice job! Good 'ol American ingenuity at it's best! And the best part is that you have a willing test subject to try it on! (She was willing, wasn't she? 😛) But don't stop there. You are obviously creative enough to come up even better ideas. 😉

While I'm at it and you have a cordless drill, I have a suggestion. If you can find one, try this. It would work great but you have to use it carefully or it could hurt. But if used the right way, I think it would be lethal!



I would run it very slow in the direction that the tines would allow them to retract if they had to and only spin it fast enough to let them make light contact with a foot or sides. (The only places I would use it) Also, toes tied back would be recommended.

The power stripper seems a bit dangerous to me, unless one were to attach something else to the tines, ie, feathers, q-tips, etc.

The power stripper seems a bit dangerous to me, unless one were to attach something else to the tines, ie, feathers, q-tips, etc.

It could be dangerous if not used properly, but if you were cautious and brought it to her feet slowly and didn't put any pressure on them and let them lightly skim across her soles, I would think it would tickle even worse than hairbrushes. And be sure not to spin it too fast!
