Halfling rogues are true masters of deception, capable of sneaking in, scouting ahead and skulking about.
That is... when luck doesn't turn *really* bad, and said rogues stumble into unseen gopher holes, much to their occupants' discontent.

...

"As if the wee beastie's cold tiny paws weren't bad enough, a guardsman was also closing, drawn in by Ladrella's chuckling... but her foot was stuck fast, and what was worse, her bladder was about to explode.
That wasn't such a fine day for sneaking around..."

...

Ok, a very quick sketch that turned into something bigger, just to remind you I can actually draw, when I remember to.

It's basically the same stuff I did on paper; little to none post-scanning touch up.
So you know I drew it, not the prog.

[Well... I *did* add the gopher later...]

Enjoy it, while it lasts.

...

EDIT:

Refreshed Thread.

That was easy! I saw this first at the TMF, and was prepared for a long hide 'n' seek search to find it! As I said there, I'm very impressed! The gray shading is beautiful; the girl is impishly cute (her anguished forced grin is delightful); the gopher is a gleefully cartoony little sadist (one likes a tickler to enjoy his work!); and the bifurcated nature of the picture (with half the action taking place underground) is an arresting idea. Is the rogue in for questioning once she's captured? Better let the rodent do the interogation!

Nah, to...night...day...whatever I just felt like posting it somewhere handy.
Almost forgot to post it, actually.

The gray shading is beautiful.
The gray shading turned out way darker than the pencil original - the sketch's hues were so subdued I had to turn contrast up a notch.
After posting, I printed the pic to compare it, and saw it was more like a couple of notches and a dozen.

I'll probably post the *real* version... The shades are way subtler, there.
I should have used my usual technique [felt pen over pencil] but it seemed "overkill" for some reason.

Besides, I went for grey/gray/grigio over my usual tan because I am not too sure people actually like it the way I do.
I feel sketches shouldn't stay gray, but I guess I'm alone here.

Well... I do have another idea brewing up.
And, yes, it revolves around questioning.

...

Who knows when I'll draw it.

🙂

Man, this is amazing! Your drawing skills are exellent!
In fact, this is the first tickling drawing I see of you. I really would like to see you previous work sometime.
Why would you delete this? I mean this is a great work of art!

I do like the gray tones in this one, they give it a dark and medieval feel. (I also like the shading here). Personally I don't have a preference towards gray tones or tan. In fact, some of my own sketches (like the character sketch of Kitzalia) I scanned in and changed the gray tones to sepia. (which gives it a nice "antique" effect)

Thanks for showing this one to us, Kalamos! 🙂

For some strange reason, my reply was posted twice, (this was the second one) -I deleted it in this edit.

Well, thanks, I don't suck too much. 😉

My stuff? It's around somewhere.
Many artists try and advertise their pics: double threads, bumping posts, and so on.

When I find something I like, I search a user's post history; loot is bound to emerge that way.

You might be aware I am reasonably crazy. Mildly deranged. Sanitationally challenged... no wait...

...

I delete my pics because they "expire" over time.
You leave them on a forum, they are at the users' mercy. They can comment on them. They can let sink to oblivion or bump them up, at a whim.
Once my threads grow old, I delete the pics and move them over my group.
Yes... I do have a group. But it's hidden somewhere.
If my stuff is worth watching, it's worth seeking for too.

...

Unless they paid for it. But it's another matter altogether.

If you manage to track my older pics down, you'll notice I did the same.
I like the "parchment" quality sepia tones confer to a pic.

This is one of the few pics I did in grey; such an oddity I added a tan version for the fun of it.

...

Glad you liked it, guys.

🙂

awwwwww. Whatever the hech that thing is, its doing what I'm trying to teach my dog! 😉

Great job! 😀

Kudos to Larry Elmore for inspiring me with a classic comic, Snarfquest.

😀

EDIT:

Non spingete, eh?
Tanto lavoro gratis...

As pertinent to recent discussion, I don't think this picture received half the attention it deserved so I'm bumping it up for better visibility. C'mon folks, let's hear some appreciation! You want to see the interrogation, don't you!

Hmmm... I got the bump, but for some reason, my initial comments didn't take. Damn, this system can be stubborn! The gist of it was that this delightful picture didn't receive half the appreciation it deserved, and I'm hoping fresh visibility will inspire a bit more attention. I'm also manuevering for the hinted-at sequel. I desperately want to see that interrogation! By the way, I too like the sepia-ed version very much.

PS: Now they show up. Must be my system at fault. I surrender!

Did I hint a sequel? Actually I had none in mind; I had a different pic in ... store? for you guys. 😉

But I could merge the ideas...
I'm already picturing the scene in my mind.

...

Hey, LBH, what about *your* pics? You had a comic ready for release! 🙂

:wooha: wow, Kalamos is almost at 4000! 😀 Keep at it! You are closer to ness than enyone I've even seen! 😉

For every post of mine, Ness posted twice.
Guess she's got more to say than I do.

😉

Yeah, i just noticed that on Godmod; she's about to score 8000! HOW does she get that freetime she needs? 😛

Guess she installed some time compression tool.

😀 😀 😀

Ooops! On review, it seems I was responding more to my own inquiry than to your answer. My error! Please don't let my sloppy suppositions gum up the works! I'll be happy with anything you choose to offer!

Thanks for asking about the comic! I'm hoping to have chapter 2 ready before the end of October. That's more possible than it seemed earlier, as I had a really productive work session this weekend. The linework is all but done, and several pages have been colored. I'm afraid the plot became sufficiently involved that I had to break it in half: the necro-tickling scene I promised for chapter 3 will now appear in chapter 4. This'll teach me for being so definite!

Well... an interrogation pic would make sense!

I'll be trying something...

I'm dying to see more of your halfing character! A distinctive, exotic cutie... she's well worth a series!

Ladrella the Rogue, as a recurring char, eh...?

Hehehehe...

😀

Ladrella... I like the name! Succinct, tomboyish and as distinctive as she is... a good fit! And "hehehehe" is the operative reaction! I hope she has a lot of it in her future!

What most people missed so far is the easy pun behind her name. 😉

I may have caught it. I hope i don't have to interpret the term "halfling" in more that one sense! 😱
