Im a big rap fan and I just cant believe all the shit going on with this new 50 cent movie. I know around me theaters have been forced to take it out because of gang violence. I didnt think a movie could cause so much trouble, anyone else have any input on this?

50 cent should be banned from rapping because he is a talentless hack :[

I'm afraid I must concur.

But I hate rap. That's not the reason I think he's talentless of course. There are rappers who have talent, he's just not one of them. I happen to think fondly of Eminem. I don't listen to him, but I do consider him a good artist.

I'm not really a fan of hip hop and rap myself.

But hasn't 50 cent recently said that his 'Mature' rated game could be educational to kids? Yep, it will teach them that beating drug dealers with a baseball bat is a GOOD THING. Oh, and swearing all the time gets you respect!

Excuse me, but that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard... 🙄

He probably means educated in the way that tells kids what NOT to do with their lives. 😛

Maybe not. But at least my theory makes sense.

hahahaha

hip hop is the greatest man but 50 cent is the worst rapper besides jarule im telling you nothing beats pac , biggie , and NWA ,

oh ya i forgot i live in toronto and he is being comp[letely banned not even allowed to have a concert now that sucks good thing he does to ...

I hate rap and the whole culture of hiphop... with their baggy clothes and their finger pointing and hand waving... all the time with the "Yo" ... well hello to yourself!

I'm more of a metal man... nothin' as good as moshing and Dimmu Borgir...
\m/ >_<

^^ edit : Yes... yes there is: TICKLING!! 😀😀
And sry if I offended someone, just said the way I think of it.
There are different types of taste and it isn't worth fighting for, but everyone can give their oppinion. There isn't any "bad tastes" , just different tastes which don't match with other person's tastes...

I like most kinds of music but I can't stand rap or hiphop. To me it's NOT music at all but just a lot of irritating noise. Listening to more than about 30 seconds of it makes me want to start swinging a REGULAR baseball bat.

I cant stand the whole rap and hip hop culture of today personaly, it makes me sick! Butttttttttttt I will say that rap/hip hop was good in the old days (circa 1979 - 1988). Stuff like Sugarhill, Kurtis Blow, The Sequence...all real musicians playing actual instruments and writing music, just talking the lyrics in rhyme...not that alot of em made any sence, but it was some damn good grooves and feel good disco/funk. Hell Sugarhill and The Sequence could actualy sing and made 100% singing r&b/dance tunes on their lp's combined with the rap..now THAT is talent! Cant say much for the stuff since the dawn of the 90s.

I only like rap songs that stand for something...none of this bitches and ho's stuff. The bling bling and the cars and the drugs. That's not music. It's rediculous dribble.

the hollywood brother may be the coolest invention since jimmy dean but for the life of the hollywood brother, he can't stand rap. There was a great country group (two of the ofur membersare dead now unfortunatly) called WEST TEXAS REDNECKS. although i am not a country fan i liked there one hit song "RAP IS CRAP". The hollywood brother do not like rap. The problem is not that the music itself is that evil but for some unknown reason to the hollywood brother, the fans of this genre ofm usic act out all of the lyrics on a daily basis. Most of the lyrics are about killing, or raping! This is unacceptable to the hollywood brother. What is worse is that some of the people who love rap listen to this and go out and committ these evil acts. The hollywood brother do not like rap in general as a form of music but the hollywood brother is anti rap because the people invloved make it evil.

I like some of the "old school" rappers, like Ice Cube and Naughty by Nature, but most of the newer rap really is crap.

Amen.

I too think it to be little more than noise. And this isn't from a narrow-view of music or a failure to appriciate music in all it's forms or to give them a try.

Rap is also sickeningly repetative in theme. The songs are almost always about street life in dismal suburbia. Unless you actually live in a ghetto or are subject to these problems or experiences, its rather difficult to sympathize with them or follow along. And this is regardless of race. Alot of people want to make this a race or ethnicity issue when it's not. Its more a geographical one, and thats no one's fault really.

Even if I did live in the ghetto I wouldn't choose to listen to this mostly negative music. I would have already had the misfortunate of living there, do I have to be reminded of it too?

Rap Music makes as much sense as Military-Intelligents. The two words just don't go together.

I like only the older stuff, going all the way back to grandmaster flash, listen to beat street, amazing how he just talks\raps for 7 mins, and people call r kelly origional for doing a long epic song?

Im reminded of a kevin brennan comic bit
"So i went to a 50 cent concert, he said "fuck white people" i said "yeah! fuck us?"
Then he said everybody put yo hands up and i went "already up, im gettin robbed"

I'll give the rappers credit for one thing. They've created a genre that is virtually parody-proof. It's impossible to spoof rap without looking and sounding even stupider than the real rappers.

for everyone

anyone who thinks rap is just a bunch of noise , obviosly doesnt even know what rap stands for (R-Rythem A-and P-poetry)
it is a music u can listen to that relates with problems in everyones real life (sex, Drugs , Booze , and even the Law)

although 50 cent is not one of those rappers

What song\genre doesnt have songs that relate to problems in real life? Rap is no different from any other genre other than it is simply beats made and has no musical talent. Anyone can rhyme. The only diff with rap and another genre, say metal, is that if you listen to metal, you get convicted for murder you didnt commit

@ markthetickler:

That doesn't change my mind. LOL

Sex, drugs, booze, or even the law is not a problem in my everyday life. And its not a problem in alot of other people's lives too. Thats like saying everyone has a substance abuse problem so this music is for them.

I'm sure there are people with those problems, and its unfortunate, but to say everyone is a bit much, especially when where you live has alot to do with it. I maintain that rap music is more and more about street life than it is a throw back or tribute to the common man. Other genres do that, but not rap.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better.
