Rapidshare

"clik on the "free" button" -> "Please wait x seconds" -> "type this text into the box" -> click on the button

If this is to complicated for you then you've got to be kidding me.

I understood rapidshare the very first time I ever used it. I'm on DSL and the downloads have been fast for me, too. The thing is, you have to READ it to use it, and that's exactly what I did. I think its very useful, and the only inconvenice is waiting about an hour to do another download. I've waited about 40 minutes once and still got the next download, so there's some wiggle room. But, this isn't a big deal if you use Rapidshare like once a week for one file, which is usually the case for me. Its rare people find something big enough to put there in the first place, and almost even rarer its something I'll even like. 🙂

Unfortunately, this version of vBulletin, as modified, is limited to a maximum upload size of 2 MB per post. To keep bandwidth and storage expenses within reason, the owner limits uploads to a maximum of 20 MB per complete file.

Well that sounds pretty reasonable -- especially considering how many members Tickletheater must have (and therefore how much media traffic goes on each day). Still, it must be a pretty awesome computer to host a forum this big!

But thank you for helping to clear that up!

mmmm!

Not much love in the house!?

I've tried to use Rapidshare a few times, but i've been unsuccessful everytime, i'm not gonna cry or lose any sleep about it. I just accept that. This forum is great, the posts are excellent, and everyone seems pretty cool. I don't use my PC too much, but when I do I always visit this forum, and if I can't access the links posted, I just accept it, put my feet up and watch a 30 second clip(on repeat)Lol.

Keep the peace peeps!

i think of it this way if it works for you that's great, if not don't waiste bandwidth and space on the board complaining about it. No one wants to hear it. Same thing with hacha and hjsplit. An infant could use these programs but for some reason some one over the age of 18 can't? that's weird for me to understand. Oh well. I will continue to use these programs and that site. There's no trouble at all and these messages are a waist of time!

Rapidshare works for me. 20min clips over 5min ones. Still not good with splits, avi, war and whatever. I like it.

Same here...never been a problem for me

Problem.

You know, Rapidshare used to be a problem for me. But I found the solution.

I have an odd feeling some people are using AOL or something similar to access Rapidshare. Well, I have AOL and it never worked for me, so I pasted the Rapidshare links into IE and it works perfectly - problem solved.

Yeah, it might be an elementary mistake and I might look a bit daft, but screw it, if it helps anyone out! Rapidshare is a valuable tool for the Tickle Theatre...

Moondog 😀

thats whats up, rapidshare is b/s. but my concern, how the heck do i save clips from you tube? is every single solitary one copyrighted or something? my right-click dont work. stupid p.o.s. computer technology.......

Very good advice. When you use the AOL browser, Rapidshare sees the IP address of the AOL proxy cache, which is shared with others, and thinks that you are over the download limit. With any other browser, Rapidshare should see your true IP address and fulfill your download. I have never had problems with Rapidshare using Firefox or Opera, and I'm sure that IE would work just as well.

ya know i have had rapidshare glitch on me once in a while...there must be reasons why it works well for some and not for others...still overall i found it a great way to upload and view material....i can understand frustration from not being able to download but i find all this a little humorous..not becuase people can use it for whatever reason...the part i find humorous is...and this especially goes for the guy who started the thread...its easy to complain about something..but how about doing some research and finding a better place to upload...funny how some folks want stuff but they dont want to do the work to find a better way to get it to themselves...if your going to complain about something..bring a viable solution to the discussion ...thats all i'm saying...if rapidshare doesnt work..find a site that does and ask people to upload it to that one then post it here...i sometimes use the easy sharing upload site at other forums to upload stuff...it seems to work for people that cant use rapidshare but the bandwidth doesnt last forever...here is the link to that site...

http://www.easy-sharing.com/

this may sound a bit mean but my feelings are if you dont want to do a little research to find a solution to your viewing problems then complain about it...even though someone has taken the time to share something that most of us can see....then you probably dont need to see it anyhow...

Ok this is enough. I really wish to put things into perspective here.

I have major problems with rapidshare myself, but the problem isn't with knowing/not knowing how to use it. I can say for certain that the thread starter is well able to decipher the usage of rapidshare by himself.

The main problem here is that regardless of browser, some of us (including myself) use internet service providers that put us through a proxy server. Rapidshare sees the Proxy-IP and thinks that you have downloaded the file over its set limit, therefore inhibiting any download at all.

For me it was that way before, but now, I simply see this after selecting where I wish to download it from:

<a href="http://imageshack.us"><img src="http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/618/rapidshareproblem6zf.gif" border="0" width="714" alt="Image Hosted by ImageShack.us" /></a>

Upon "clicking here", it takes me back to the beginning, where I have to click "Free" and the entire cycle simply repeats as many times as I find it fun to click.

For those of you where Rapidshare has worked, great. But spare a thought for us. Imagine seeing a "Hot ff/f clip!" accompanied with page after page of praising posts and not being able to view it for yourself because it was posted somewhere you cannot get, not because of an ignorance of how to get it, but because of a restriction imposed on the website.

What could be worse? How about this: This problem could be solved by using another file sharing web service. The list of which is easily retrieved here and despite this, you see quality clips continue to be posted on rapidshare.

My point here is that I complain about rapidshare not because it is universally inferior or faulty, but I do it because it effectively blocks off access to the marvelous content to a significant chunk of the members here, in which those who had complained are in. I only request that besides rapidshare, please post the clips on sites like www.savefile.com (this one works for me everytime, I'll assume it works for everyone until proven otherwise), where everyone may access the clip with no fuss.

End rant
