I agree with Vlad about the problems of grouping non-tk art with celebrity feet pics and screencaps. I would favour the conversion of Tk Art into an all-art forum, though we know how hard it is to get people to label their material, lol. We could leave The Gallery and Non-Tk Images for photos only.

Getting artists to label their material would not be hard at all. Most of us already do it. And those that do not or simply forget to can have their titles editted. Its really no big deal and its easier to keep track of art than photos and photo sets, etc.

I don't think that's enough, Missy Val. Grouping tk and non-tk art together would be a mistake I think.

I don't really know, Ness, because it would depend on the ratio of tk and non-tk artwork posted. I'd have no objection to a non-tk art forum, as long as the forum doesn't incur a lot of additional expense from hosting off-topic content.

Vlad, just look at the VidClips Corner to see how much difficulty we have getting people to label their uploads. Even though the rules require posters to state the actors' genders, only about half of the video threads contain this information. I do not download unlabelled clips because it takes me 4 minutes per MB, and I only like F/*.

I just checked the VidClip Corner; as of now, only 3 out of 24 video thread titles include the actors' genders as required by the rules ...

But art created by the person sharing it and random video clips from random producers shared by random members is not the same Val.

Artists are very individualistic and in charge of what they do. Its not a very good comparison as there are more factors involved with videos than there is with art. The only mistake is in not labeling it at all, and that, is something that is easy to do and most artists already do so. And again, if the stray threads go by without proper labeling then its as simple as editting them and correcting it.

Its rather clear cut. Theres nothing to defute. "What ifs" are something you are going to have to deal with no matter how solid your game plan. This is sound and you agreed with me because you realize just that. If, and I say IF labeling is such a concern, then have me modded and I'll take care of everything myself and no one will have to give it a second thought.

Its a matter of teaching a good habit to our members who don't label properly, and I know I can do that because I am patient and determined. And because I am an artist myself, they're more likely to follow by my example and the example of other artists. If I can get people to accredit artwork and pay other acts of courtesy to the original artist and make this a trend other people began to follow more and more (and I did), then I can do this.

This is only as much an issue as one makes it to be, and excuses turn into barriers and barriers turn into disagreements. Note, I'm not saying you are making excuses, you are making valid points based on actual facts, and thats fine. But there is much less concern for this than that.

I think that, for now however, it would be better if you and the rest of the staff discussed this in private from here on out. This is not the place to be having such a discussion involving the site and a part of it's potential future. I'm sure you can understand where I'm coming from. 🙂

Even here in the Non-Tickling Images forum, only 12 of 24 threads hint at the gender in their titles, and at this moment, only 9 of 24 threads in the Tickling Art forum give any clue as to the gender of the characters.

The widespread non-compliance with the content labelling rules makes me lean more towards a separate non-tk art forum (as I think Nessie is also leaning), than towards converting the tk art forum into a universal art forum. That way, those people who find it a daunting task to type "f/f ub" in their titles won't have to exhaust themselves by typing things like "non-tk" 😀

I can change that.

You shouldn't give people a reason to be lazy or they'll never learn. You want people to follow the current rules but are giving in by letting them bypass them further. It will take a little effort, yes, but it would pay off in the greater scheme of things.

But whatever works, in your mind. Thats what I originally suggested anyway, a seperate non-tickling forum. I still hold that it would be better if all art was just in one place so people didn't have to swim through pages or type in random words in a search in the hopes it will turn up what they want. Forcing them to do that is even worse than simply having artists type an appropriately titled thread which only takes a matter of seconds as opposed to the minutes or even hours it could take for someone to find what they're looking for.

In fact, searches would yield better results if we created a labeling system that was followed and then imputed as a search option. The results would be more narrow and the subject matter more precise. That is efficent and saves people browsing time.

I've allowed my idea to evolve and take shape. I'm not shooting blindly in the dark nor speaking in hypothesis. This WOULD work if given the chance and time.

EDIT:

And with that, I'll be going now. If the frum conversation portion of this thread is still active when I get back (even though I suggested it should be halted and taken up in private), then, till then. 😉

Organising the image forum is something I would like to do too, myself.

I don't know about changing the art forums; the focus should be about tickling - but a lot of users have special preferences [art over photos, manga over comics, or the other way around], so the medium is as important as the subject.

Oh well, my offer stands: if you can extend my modship over the image forum, I can start working now - shouldn't be any different from organising the rpg forum.

Give me a call when you decide guys.
