As for the start of the game, I hear we'll be getting our 6th and final starting player relatively soon, though specifically I'm not sure. The ratio will be something like 4:2, unless a character sheet is rewritten by someone. I think a few NPCs will suffice for the time being, but if it comes to pass that my NPC will be used more often than my character, I'll switch the sheet to suit her instead.

At any rate, I have a few other things going on on a few other forums, so I can't dedicate myself to the Resort; but I hope you do get some entertainment out of it in the meantime.

I never said this is easy, I just hoped that on this forum it will be easier. It's about tenth topic of that kind I started, and as for now least successful. But it's probably too soon to judge.

And if we have next possible player, then it's not bad. No sense stating without her.

Very nice character, Vi. Unique and mysterious amongst our cast. (Though it goes without saying, that forgotten age is nonetheless 18+) I'm sure she'll get into a good amount of fun and trouble while interacting with our circus. Unfortunately, playing the other female character for now, our two may not interact as much, but I look forward to any eventual encounter with her. Good to have you aboard!

And Bei, we should get going soon, but please be patient. Odds are, we'll be posting 1-3+ times a week in a longer form. We want to accommodate those of us with minimal free time or sporadic writer's block. We're getting there. I just need to set the stage. Very soon now, I promise. Just need to get some threads going for some meet and greet, as it were.

Name: Katarina

Ethnicity: Phauxnorse

Nationality: emigrant worker from the Phauxnorse homeland

Age: 24

Height: 12'3''

Weight: 220lbs

Occupation: General construction, cargo management

Description: a buxom, but wirey girl who often dresses in the scant garb characteristic of her people. She wears a shirt made of some sort of draping fabric attached to a leather strap around her neck, which does a sufficient job of covering her chest, but leaves her arms, back, midriff and flanks bare. To facilitate her free movement about the grounds while working, she'd had a pair of trousers tailored from sail canvas, but usually wears a knitted skirt or kilt in her leisurely hours. Her shoes are more often than not sandals, but if asked she'll say that a cobbler somewhere in the Glenn has been in the process of making her a pair of boots for some number of months now (making a pair of shoes to fit a 30in foot can be somewhat difficult). In terms of personality, she can be rather obnoxious, if not quarrelsome, but this is probably due to her actual shyness as a person.

Distinguishing features: despite her large size, she has domicile, soft features. Relative to her ethnicity, she's actually considered rather petite, though something of average height. Her skin is uncommonly pale, her eyes uncommonly light in hue (green) and her hair comparably dark (auburn/brown). She might even be described as sickly, but her vitality shows no sign of ailment. It may simply be that the air in Aygomenia is just a bit to thin for her liking.

Cool character, Cosmo. I think he fits a niche so far uncontemplated. As a minor point (and this confused me at first as well) Is that I think our universe is fantasy. Instead of a US, we have an "Aygomenia" that acts, for all intensive purposes, similarly. Relent hasn't given much details, but I consider our setting to be akin to late 1800s America.

Still, welcome aboard. John Silver sounds like a pretty cool dude.

Also, this Glen is like the US? Oh snap! I assumed it was going to have a British feel to it again. I may need to rethink certain aspects of my own character now.

Aygomenia, as far as I can tell, isn't anywhere. It just...sort of...is.
In the original game, it was everything from medieval europe to ancient rome; i figured this game would be no different. Also, his character is from the U.S. It says nothing of where Aygomenia is, or how he got there.

Description: Deeply manipulative and obsessive by nature. She is thoroughly attractive but very strong-featured: a very tall frame, night-black hair, high cheek bones, and dark, intense, blue eyes. She's accustomed to being the tall, daunting woman. She is typically quiet and collected, thoughtful and calculating. Her mind does not rest. She constantly ponders how to use her fellow human being as an instrument. She seeks power because, as long as she's been alive, life has been a devastating question for one so compulsively curious, and the exhilaration of overcoming and having another at her mercy has been the greatest pleasure she has known. Thus, she is overwhelmingly competitive, a perfectionist, sneaky/evasive, and often devious, and she views most situations as a manifestation of a game.

Tickling has had no less of an impact in her life than in others' in Aygomenia. She has tickled and been tickled at every turn of life, and it is perhaps the most fascinating form of power and submission to her.

Occupation: Aspiring Escape Artist

Appearance: She has a slim attractive build. Not bony, but there isn't much meat to her. Taut midriff, small bust, and slinky lanky limbs gives her a slightly mousy, awkward appearance. She has dark brown eyes and tan skin with typical Labyrinthian markings. She has dyed her hair a solid blue in order to make herself more noticeable. Who she manages to get noticed by in doing this is yet to be determined.

She wears an odd garment with particularly long sleeves which can either be rolled up upon itself or loosened, making the perfect straight jacket. The garment is a brilliant blue, and aside from its restraining features accentuates her slim frame, as well as reveal the entirety of her midriff, only coming down to the lowest ribs. She wears a pair of tight, otherwise nondescript pants she finds easy to move in.

Personality: Extremely intelligent when it comes to learning new tricks or mathematics, but not as good at figuring out other people. Young and eager but perhaps naïve, she tends to stick her foot in her mouth. Recently her mind has set itself on mastering traps and restraints, maneuvering herself out of the most restricting traps. Most of the time, at least.

She has sometimes gotten herself in the nasty habit of being tickled whilst restrained, something which makes it much harder for her to make a dramatic escape, but somehow seems to be just as entertaining. On a few rare occasions, she has convinced a few of the more curious to try out the various bondages for themselves, something which stirs a surprisingly darker, more aggressive part of her to come out...

Description: She has jet black, wavy hair hanging past her shoulders, full lips and a great figure, a body more commonly associated with prostitutes than a ringmaster (ringmistress?) During performances, she dresses in a typical ringmaster outfit consisting of a shiny topcoat with coattails, a top hat and nothing below except a thong, fishnet stockings and high heels; the key to being a memorable host, she believes, is to be provocative. Between shows, she wears a casual attire consisting of a long sleeved shirt, tight pants and boots. Regardless of what she wears, she is considered to be very attractive, but not the sweet and innocent kind.

From her gait to the way she stands, Shauna knows how to grab people's attention especially with men. However, those who worked with her will know that she is not always a nice person. She loves being in charge and makes sure no one forgets it, keeping a keen eye on anything that will help increase ticket sales even if it is something her performers might not agree with.

Another personality trait, perhaps more well-known among the circus employees than her strict attitude, is her promiscuity. For the men she has no interest in, she tantalizes them nonetheless as a cruel form of amusement. Fortunately, she keeps the circus tasteful by never selling herself to earn some extra money... at least, not as part of a show.

So do you currently have an NPC filling in the manager's position? Just wanna know before I get started and realise too late that there is already someone doing the paperwork.

"So what've we go in way of talent around here?" One of the managers groaned from behind a cigar, rubbing his temples as he fidgeted through a desk strewn with papers. His subordinate manager replied,
"Well we have our acrobats, a few clowns, and the menagerie. That trick rider we hired has yet to appear by rail or by letter; we haven't the slightest idea where he's gotten to. But his money stays with us until the first performance, as agreed; and for the better given his absence. I've heard some rumor around the camp that some local talent has begun to flock to the campsite. A magician, I think. And an exotic dancer, whatever that means. Have we room for two more acts?"

"Room? Space is the one thing we do have unfortunately; it's an audience we're lacking. Especially with our foreigner missing. See if you can't track them down and get them to the office so we can fill some time between acts. I'll get on the phone with the main office and see if we don't have some musicians on retainer."

This is the only reference to the management thus far. I can switch the "his" with "her" without upsetting anyone, and I'll let you take it from there.

Really nice to see a new player around here.
I would have a suggestion. Few posts later my character got interested in someone wagon. What he did you can read in my latest post in "Day 2- three days to opening" thread. If you want (and GM wouldn't mind, as I'm nearly sure he wouldn't) it could be Shaunas. It could give Robert (my character, phisical worker erecting a tent) something to do and for you're character a starting situation.

Well so far as getting Piotr back into the game, we need to give him some actual work to do. I'm not sure what labor he can do, but we can set up a meeting between Piotr and Shauna concerning something like ticket sale decline after we get everything else underway. It's as good a way as any to get the two of you readily introduced without you rummaging through people's houses 😛

Cassandra, does this sound okay to you? It would give you something to do until the audition thing gets coordinated in day 3.

As soon as I read Beiserker's post about the wagon, I will respond to it. It's possible that Shauna has a makeshift office in that wagon and she hasn't left it to join/watch what her employees are doing.
