I don't want to be confrontational but I have just deleted my facebook and twitter accts and have checked with friends, there were no records of my posts pics or anything, I just disappeared and other peoples posts were as they were before, just minus my posts. I understand that they are different sites and have different programming, but as I said I am just adding to the conversation here as I am also thinking about leaving but for personal reasons, not the site just me!!
The site has been great to me but now I have changed and feel I must move on.
I am not asking for my acct to be deleted I will just stop logging in, but you did ask for examples of sites that allow you to delete your acct, and here are 2 big ones.
Twitter does save your stuff for 30 days though so you can log back in but you are not on the site, just saved in the files

Nope. No policy change. We don't delete accounts. It causes database issues, disrupts the flow of threads where posts are vanished, and in the cases where the deleted account is the 1st post, causes the thread and all other posters replies to vanish also.

And If you know how to use the old index search function on Google (note when you search google you are started automatically searching the newest active index they have) everything that has ever been indexed by google can still be searched and found, even if it's gone from the current index. In short; Your shit is out there forever no matter what you do, and you can't sweep it under a carpet by deletions, just make it a dot harder to find.

Internet rule #1 Don't post anything you don't want to own for the rest of your life.

I may still lurk on here and there even though I don't really feel it is in my best interest which is why I wanted my account deleted, to remove the temptation but as I said I stand by your decision, since I was a grown man when I decided to create an account on here. First off, you don't owe any of us anything. And we all (or at least MOST of us, excluding the producers, but even them to a certain extent as well) live in the "vanilla world". I get what you're saying about great people and such, and am honored that you consider me one. Maybe try talking to some of the people you've met about it. I know it can seem difficult to balance things sometimes, but many do it quite well. Maybe you just need to take a break, as you said, and maybe enjoy your fetish in moderation?
