Sensitive feet

Tickling for too long during one session can cause feet to lose some of their sensitivity. My girl has ticklish feet especially during the first few minutes of a tickling episode. When I first start, she has a strong temptation to clench her feet to get some relief from the tickling, but I make her keep her toes curled back. I love to see the tension in her toes as she longs to clench but doesn't because she knows that I like for her toes to stay curled back while I tickle them. However, she can't take an electric toohbrush between her toes. I have to let her move her foot and clench some because that is the only way that she can take it. Her toes never become de-sensitized to the electric toothbrush. If I tickle her too much in one day, she eventually tells me that her feet are 'all tickled out' and that they need a rest to re-charge. But, there is always tomorrow.

I can't agree...two girls in my classes get into a quick foot tickle fight...giggles and laughs...my two insane aunts (both mid 50s) get into a foot tickling fight...extreme hysteria and a very awkward thanksgiving dinner

To mis-quote Indiana Jones "it's not the age, it's the mileage". My feet have lost a LOT of their ticklishness, probably due to use- and I don't mean the FUN use of being tickled; too much standing, too much driving, too many years of sneakers. Plus I'm a straight dude so i do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to take care of my feet or to keep any part of my skin soft n smooth... I tried; my "Ped Egg" sits on a shelf, covered in cobwebs...

Well, I guess it all depends on the "type" of tickling.
Humans can experience two types of tickling, Knimesis, which basically causes itching and is fundamental for knowing whether something is crawling on you, and our favorite Gargalesis, the reason why tickle fetishists exist. :]

I think a person will forever feel Knimesis, but Gargalesis can probably fade through time. Gargalesis happens when we tickle people, and its because of the nerves on our ticklish spots that we feel Gargalesis. For one to stop feeling Gargalesis, that person would have to be tickled for a VEEEERY long period of time, and who would even want to do that? (;

Whether Knimesis or Gargalesis.. ticklishness is based upon how close your nerve endings are to the underside of your skin. This is genetic. You can't make yourself that way, can't wish it so, hypnotize yourself to be more so, etc. You can take care of your feet so that skin buildup doesn't occur. Usually they will become more sensitive if properly cared for, but certain health conditions can alter that; diabetes, poor circulation, abuse to the feet like walking on hard surfaces or ill fitting shoes.
