I think my main gripe on here isn't typos but when Mods/Admin either delete or move one of your posts without the courtesy of letting you know why. Doesn't take much to send a PM to let you know does it really and it could possibly help you not make whatever mistake they deem you to have made again.
Thats very true. Thank you for pointing that out. A great deal of mods everywhere simply assume you will be aware of whats happening or figure it out on your own. But then they're running the risk that you won't, which is why a brief PM explaining what happened and why it was sent is a courtesy (this also gives the mod a chance to give further directions and advice). They could just let you figure it out on your own, and most people do instantaniously if they're paying attention, but I think this has more to do with an act of proper authoritive principle than an expectation to know whats going on and why.
And its more professional and kind on their part, and, as you said, lets the person understand their error so that it doesn't happen again.
Aside from that, its just good communicating on their part, which is part of the job. Its not always going to be efficient or practical to send a PM to everyone for any little change, but if its something like a moved thread, a deleted thread, or a closed thread...or, alternatively, an editted or deleted post that was of enough significance that it warranted being editted or deleted, then a PM is more appropriate, perhaps for even lesser occurances as well when necessary.
I don't personally have this problem, but alot of others do, and if they're new to this site, they may need to be given the heads up in some instances.
