In this you are correct, I'd say (Not that I have much more authority, if any, on the subject. 😛). Popups should be meaningless, with cookies nearly so. It seems the only solutions are alternative browsers or upgrading to IE7 (Both of which I highly recommend over sticking with IE6 anyway.).

I'm trying IE 7 now and I have to say, it doesn't seem to be any faster. According to bandwidth.com I'm getting 4 megs per second, so it's not my internet connection. According to the server status webpage we're in the green in every category, so we should just be buzzing right along. I just cleaned out the logs like 10 days ago, but maybe it needs doing again for some reason. I think I'll try that right now.

as of this moment, all pages are running nice and fast. it's been a long time since they have run as quickly as my cable connection provides.

Yep, I'm with TIB on this. Whatever you did just did me a world of good. The pages are loading nice and fast again, and the forum is keeping me logged in now when I leave and come back, whereas for about a week or two there I had to keep logging back in each time I came.

MUCH better! Whatever you did appears to have worked. Is it at all possible that the cache/logs just get backed up more quickly with all the uploads and downloads we now have? (Wondering if there's a way to schedule and auto-clear of that so you don't have to worry about messing with it so often.)

I used to have a script that did that, but it stopped working at some point and I wouldn't know where to begin to do it myself. I'll just have to stay on top of the logs.
