The last time that I was inside a church was in 2008 to attend the funeral of Cardinal Avery Dulles who had been my faculty colleague at Fordham University.
The last time that I was inside a synagogue (actually a temple, as the Reform Jews call their synagogues) was in 2018 for my grandnephew's Bar Mitzvah.
