My Dan is home!!! And we have some of the coolest friends in the world! Thank you much to everyone who took care of my Dan along the way and to everyone who made him feel so happy to be on the east coast (besides me, that is 😀 ).

I'm glad he made it!

I wish I would've gotten the chance to meet-there was just way too much going on the very week he travelled in my area. I look forward to the chance to meet someday.....the bear's a pretty cool guy!

Now get outta' here and we'll see you guys when you take a break!

I am truly blessed with some of the best friends on earth.

From sea to shining sea, no less. From heartfelt farewells to my West Coast Gatherings family, to the caring, sharing embraces of the crew across the nation's heartland, and on to the loving welcomes of our family on the East. Sprinkled liberally with the well-wishes of those along the way who couldn't meet up due to bad timing and life getting in the way. You all make an ol' bear feel even more warm and fuzzy than he already is. Just more evidence to prove that it really *IS* all about the love.

I love you guys.

To think, ten years. Not only Ayla but others of us here in the wilds of Upstate N.Y. have been the direct beneficiaries of the Left Coast wisdom and sunshine you brought to these often dank and cloudy parts (and in not just the meteorological senses) occasioned by your indeed epic cross-continental relocation.

Sadly, the UNY gatherings may be defunct even before I had the real possibility to attend one--in the company of my beloved late Stacey, a recurring but ultimately unfulfilled dream--but at least I can now count the honor of having once in a vanilla (or make that, BBQ) setting met you, Ayla and a few of the other mainstays and luminaries of the Upstate TK community ('cause venray, venraya, Ann and Drew, that's exactly what you are too).

Here's to several more decades of your gracing our region through your transplanted permanent residence in it.
