I had no idea there was any controversy concerning this picture. It makes me rather nervous about TMF. Your picture is cute and looks entirely innocent to me. Both characters are drawn to the same scale and are stylized in such a way that they could be taken for the same age. One would hope that would be enough to avoid criticism. If a viewer wasn't familiar with the context, he wouldn't think about it twice. I've joined the TMF, but don't post there much (don't spend a lot of time there at all, now that I'm so deeply involved with TTC), and have never submitted a picture. If they're as touchy as all that, it may be for the best.

Its not just this picture, it would be any picture with an underager drawn by anyone, it just seems like a big deal because this doesn't happen often its practically taboo. This includes stories and media as well, things that will be deleted. It was told to me that the general audiance of the TMF doesn't feel comfortable engaging in their fetish online when they know there are pictures with children in them somehow in a ticklish situation regardless of how innocent it is. I feel thats a huge assumption and exageration because you couldn't possibly assume to represent everyone or how they'll feel about a picture when they look at it, but its in the rules and I respect the contexts SOME might take pictures like this, whether they're drawn by me or not, in.
Its not a call on my morals or standards as I said, its not like anyone said "how dare you, this is sick" or whatever, nor was it an insult to delete it (it was deleted before anyone could respond to it actually or before I had a chance to look back to see if there were any replies), its just a matter of preference because it makes some other people uncomfortable supposedly. Thats how it was explained to me (in private of course). Its not a controversy at all, its a matter of taste and what, on that site, is personally acceptable no matter how benign it is.
Actually, this deletion came in lieu of the server/format change the TMF underwent. Since then they've been cracking down on alot of things admittedly, some of which I support.
I don't blame them if it was purely to cover their asses in order to avoid getting in trouble with the law. This isn't child pornography, nor am I a pornographer and while they're not going to treat this and anyone else's work like child pornography they have to assume others might or that the wrong eyes might see it.
Thats perfectly understandable and I'm not looking to bash the TMF for trying to sort out their own levels of comfort with their fetish (afterall, many members have families and children of their own). I was told however that if I reposted the picture or shared anything similar I may be banned temporarily.
The issue itself is no big deal, but since this could easily be ongoing, it is something that will be reoccuring. The only way I'd be able to share such art there is through links. And while thats sad and hurts the ammount of views I may get, its the only way to avoid this.
