Dave, yes, we agree on the the bar thing. HOWEVER, I notice that you are continuing to put smokers up against drinkers!LOL This is funny to me when the whole point in regard to the bar discussion was that it was drinkers who need the smoke to enjoy the bar.

Like I pointed out, all other things being equal...alcohol specifically in this case...your smoke is the item out of bounds of equality where you insist on a special right. We can all drink and bear that cross. You smoking adds your own special case on top of the way your alcohol consumption effects me. Ya dig?

Frankly, I'm not sure about the power play. As much money as the cigarette companies had grossed over the years, it's hard to buy that the alcohol industry is a power broker in comparison. I'm sure there are facts to support it but given the disgusting amount of money these industry play with...well, it's beyond my scope I guess.

My wife and I both smoke. We rarely patronize restaurants that won't allow it, mostly in protest of their smoking ban. Hey - you guys are happier we're not there, and we're happier you folks aren't uncomfortable by our presence. Works out just fine!

Besides, there are lots of restaurants around here that do allow smoking. We enjoy chatting with whomever is working and we're pretty good tippers, so our repeated patronage seems to be appreciated.

I don't know how true this is, since I don't live there, but I heard of a law in California that states you cannot smoke in an apartment that has more than 200 units, or you will be fined upwards of $5,000 per incident.

I dont think that banning smoking from anything isnt very fair I mean thats why you have smoking and non smoking sections, here in Az alot of the resuraunts that have bars in them are not banning smoking because people dont want to have to drink ther drinks and get up and leave the groupe they are with to go smoke. If they did bann it they would lose a lot of business.

I don't like smoking at all. I don't care as much if not smoking around me, but as soon as someone gets close to me, smoking that shit, I get pissed very easily.

So obviously, if they ban smoking from places, it's not gonna bother me one bit.
