Sure signs that you're going batshit insane

Does anyone realize that Debating an Issue like the existence of God and the Sciences on a tickling Forum is Batshit Insane? I did....

I only have one answer.....

42

Now, I'm off to dinner at Milliway's. I'm running late.

It's all abit too heady and deep for my tiny reptilian brain, but it makes for interesting reading!

Does that mean I'm coo-coo? 😱wl:

You know, actually...this isn't an arguement, and it's quite a refreshing debate. Once we all realized no one's attacking each other, of course. 🙂 Believe me, I've been on another tickling forum where this would have evolved into a personal slagfest in about three posts. 😉

I'm on my way out to work, so I'll make this quick. I'm not ignoring anything.

I just got done PMing someone to tell them how much I loved their sig quote. It's always been one of my favorites. I speak a lot of physics, mathematics and scientific specualtion. It's an interest of mine which I study voraciously. My actually schooling and training, however, is in sociology and philosophy. The quote in question was said by Aristotle...

"It is the sign of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it."

That's basically where I stand in all this. Nerrad talked about the inability of science to accept faith. I can't speak for them, but I'm open to the possibility. I'm fully aware that we really "create" very little. But faith is a bugger of a road to go down. Blind faith makes you comfortable enough to stop seeking answers.

My problem with religion is that it's based on the observations of people thousands of years ago, when writing was a new invention and people who even could write were only doing it with big things they found important to them. And then it's open to interpretation centuries later by people with an agenda to impose their will on others who will follow.

Take the example of the flood in Genesis. "A flood covered the world". Ok, well...define "world". As known by the writer of the book four thousand years ago. Most of the entire human race (civilised, anyway) lived in the fertile crescent, in the Mesapotamian area. Seaside. By the water. Meteor or comet hits the ocean...huge tsunami...wipes out everything...primitive people think that it's the wrath of God. Today, we have facts that show the bottom of the ocean in that area has an impact point and metals and elements not indiginous to the area.

But...people today, thousands of years later, still believe it was the wrath of God because it's what they've been told and they don't question it. That's faith. And it's dangerous. It stops people from looking for answers. Which is exactly what people who have learned to control other people want. Blind following, no questions. Remember...most religions used to kill you for just asking questions. There's a reason for that.

I wish I could read the original, first made bible. That would be cool, but it's nearly impossible because National Geographic said there was chapters missing because earlier priests removed the chapters they didn't want in there or like.

hmm Nerrad..interesting that you say man does not create...what do you call childbirth then? i would say that is a creation of man and woman together..

Thank you for the quick biology lesson, Izzy. Could you repeat the part where a few cells divide and then a heart just starts beating? That part's fuzzy. See, I'm sitting here with a tray table. It's just a tray table. I don't expect that, at any moment, it's going to have a pulse. I know someone made this tray table because from everything I've read, it hasn't always existed and I know they don't grow on trees. Someone put their wood with someone else's screws and I have a tray table.

So when a man puts a useless-by-itself sperm with a woman's useless-by-itself egg, why doesn't it produce another being every single time? I have to attribute that to something, and I'm sticking with God creating life. You as a person can do nothing, nor can I. All we do is put a bunch of cells together which are nothing until touched with life.

Just my opinion... which happens to be true.

hmm but those cells dividing are when man and woman copulate..and to me that means they have created separate cells that eventually form into a baby...

giving life...man's ultimate creativity....some can do it..some fail...but it's a creation nonetheless..to me anyway..that's my opinion..and it happens to be true..

You and I can cut our hair and mix it up on the table, it's cells. We can put both our blood in a can and have it shaken at Home Depot's paint department. It's still cells. It needs to have life put in it. It's not magic. It's not our love for one another. And it's no accident.

well for what it's worth, David agrees with you...ah well..i believe what i believe..

I'm glad you're giving credit to BOTH parents- women in pop culture and media usually take ALL the credit for bearing children; they're the life-givers and men are just brute killers etc etc

well women can hardly become pregnant without man...whatever means it takes..

Oh women are FAR FROM BEING the life givers of the world. Seriously, we've just endured centuries of persecution by you men while continuing to spout out your heirs and future legacies AND have cleaned up every god damned mess you men have made in the world while enduring being raped, pillaged, dehumanized, demoralized, slaughtered, burned, stabbed, imprisoned, or otherwise treated like property for generations and denied the right to exert even a basic amount of control over what we want in our lives....but we're far from being the life blood this planet...(snort)...:rolleyes

Slippery slope.

So when people have stillborn children, or deformed children, that is also the will of god? How very presumptuous of you to say. God is supposed to inherently unknowable.

Was it god's will to create Cortes, Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot?

Okay, look you people are acting stupid right now. There are much more important things to worry about in this world than God. Whether God Exists or Not is not relevant.

Do you want to know what is Batshit Insane?

Arguing the validity of a concept that no one wants to really dig deep to prove.

If you want to really know about God, sit for a while, and think about it. The best way to defend an idea that can not be proven except by interpretation when there is no solid proof, is to not speak at all and let those who will find out discover what they can.

I am sick and tired of each of these sides making a ruckus over something so small. WHAT IF YOU AND I DON'T REALLY EXIST? HOW ABOUT THAT? There are always ways to prove and disprove a subject.

I am so fucking tired of this.
STOP HIJACKING THIS THREAD, YOU'RE ALL DRIVING ME BATSHIT INSANE!!!!

And no, I don't give a damn about this. If you don't believe in God, it's your choice. Don't try to prove it to others. It only frustrates people. And you'll die never succeeding in life at proving your side. If you believe in God, it's your choice, don't try to prove it to others, it will make the people who don't believe in God want to argue with you, and then you'll just mess everything up again.

You know what you are? You are Insane, for even needing to deal with this issue. It's unnecessary. Was it even necessary when we were babies? When we were younger? Think of how much nicer life would have been if we did not have to have Organized religion to make osme people just shoot off at the mouth the way they do. Sure, it seems outlandish, sure it seems odd. And prehaps even stupid, but its their belief. The same goes for people who can't prove there is a God, and there fore do not say it.

So
Shut Up.
Get Back On The Thread.
And PM me all your responses to me in the morning fools!

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and God makes people with free will.

It's obviously more than I'm gonna post here, Purple, and I doubt you have any interest in conversation outside this thread about it, so I'll leave it at nothing evil or harmful comes from God. Not cancer, not car accidents, not bad things happening to good people. Just because He allows things to happen does not mean he causes them.

And so that's it, Journia? You done with our little rant? Talk about unnecessary and pointless. If this bothers you, don't read it. If your life is sad because it's Godless, too bad. But at the end of your little tantrum, all you're entitled to is your singular opinion... just like everyone else. So you don't need to stomp in here like the angry and weird little CHAMPION OF JUSTICE!!! and disrupt a perfectly civil and surprisingly informative conversation. Take a hike. Go look at some cartoons and leave the intellectual stuff to the grownups. Who fucking asked you anything?

The first sign of something some of you don't agree with and you run in and try to drag the whole thing down. Go find something else to do. So far in this whole thread, you're the only one making a fool of yourself.

Dude, did you not get the parody? The whole rant is Batshit Insane.

And I'm making a fool of myself? That is hilarious coming from the people who are hijacking the thread lol lol lol

They're coming to take me away, haha
To the funny farm where life is beautiful all the time, haha, hehe
The nice men in their nice white coats are coming to take me awayyyyyyyy

God's responsible for all the good things in life and none of the bad? Very convenient! I wish I had that gig. :lol

When we appreciate stars or a sunset, that's god's handiwork, and god having given us the ability to appreciate beautiful things. When we discover new cures and medicines, this is god having given us the intelligence to discover them. These are of course, the natural outcomes of a process governed by the fundamental forces of nature. Hitler/Pol pot/Stalin/Cortes's birth, life, death, and legacy are also governed by the fundamental forces of nature. If those fundamental forces of nature are god, or are a byproduct of god, then he is directly accountable for every good and bad thing humans have done.

It works both ways. Either god takes all of the credit, or none.

That's a whole other conversation. No one ever talks about Satan, the source of all things evil. You can't believe in half the equation. That's like accepting light, but not dark... wet, but not dry.

And I stated earlier I wasn't really gonna get to deeply involved here. But it's statements like "Very convenient!" that make it unproductive. You would say "Very convenient" to a Christian's explanation of things. We would say "Very convenient...
your argument is based on theoretical math and unobtainable, non-duplicatable scenarios..." so each of us is standing here empty handed. I think fundamentally, I believe what I believe and you believe what you can see. You seem like a very educated person and that's great. The world needs smart people.

I'm not trying to convince you or anyone of anything. We're simply exchanging ideas. But you could carbon date this topic and see it has not evolved on this forum in all the times it been brought up. People by nature are negative and more comfortable with darkness. The topic bothers them for whatever reason and becomes unnecessarily hostile. So I leave it to you to mediate the topic if it continues.

Peace.

Is satan not a product of god too? He allowed him free will...

Put "theoretical" into context. Science theoretical, or common-folk theoretical? There is a difference. For example, the theory of gravity is just a theory.. but we know the force of gravity exists. The theory of gravity fits with the math (the math that wholly agrees with our observances) that explains the universe.

As much as it pains some people to believe, the theory of evolution explains observable facts like genetic mutation and speciation. I know for some reason that evolution carries such a negative connotation with people who believe that god created everything in it's current form. The facts aside (yes, genetic mutation and speciation is real; look at the swine flu; do the fruit fly test!!), if god created everything today in it's current form, where are the fossil bunnies from the Cambrian period?

The theory of the big bang fits in quite well with the cosmic microwave background radiation that we know is present in the entire universe as well. But I am sure this will be passed off as a "unobtainable, non-duplicatable scenario" to you as well. As for that, I cannot answer until CERN gets off their asses and gets the Large Hadron Collider in working order. One of it's many predicted findings is a "miniature big bang". 😉
