2001: March 1 - Three senior advisers tell House panel that then President Bill Clinton overruled them when he granted a pardon to Marc Rich on last day in office.
 
2002.

February 8th to the 24th: The Winter Olympics are held in Salt Lake City, Utah.
 
2003: Nintendo releases the Game Boy Advance SP, an enhanced version of its popular Game Boy Advance handheld game console.
 
2004: Janet Jackson experiences a "wardrobe malfunction" at the halftime show of Super Bowl XXXVIII
 
2005.

April 2nd: Pope John Paul II Dies. He had been in ill health for several weeks.:cry1:
 
2006: Jimmie Johnson wins Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and Nextel Cup Championship all in the same year
 
2007: Halo 3 is released and grosses US$170 million in a 24-hour period, a record for the highest grossing opening day in video game history.
 
2008: (February 19) Fidel Castro announces his resignation as President of Cuba, to be effective on February 24.
 
2000.

July 25th: Air France Flight # 4590, a Concorde Jet, crashes into Hotel Genesse. This is the first major crash of a French Supersonic Passenger Jet that kills 109 people aboard, and 4 people in the hotel.
 
2002: Pennsylvania miners rescued after spending 77 hours in a dark, flooded mine shaft (July 28).
 
2003.

February 1st: Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrates over Texas on reentry, killing all of the 7 astronauts aboard.:cry1:
 
2004: (June 5) Ronald Reagan, the 40th President of the United States, dies at his home in Bel-Air, California at the age of 93. A six-day state funeral follows after his death.
 
2006: After finishing only 4 games above .500 in the regular season, the St. Louis Cardinals win the World Series, beating the Detroit Tigers 4 games to 1.
 
2007: (I think this is HILARIOUS btw!) The Mooninite scare occurs in Boston, when devices used in a guerrilla marketing campaign for the animated television series Aqua Teen Hunger Force are mistaken for improvised explosive devices.
 
2008: A brand new radio station ......... TMF RADIO .......... hits the airwaves!!! :bouncybou:bouncybou
 
2000.

January 1st: Many people were worried that their computers would not work because of changing date from 99 to 2000. However the Y2K event never happened because computer software was updated beforehand.
 
2001

Anthrax scare rivets nation, as anthrax-laced letters are sent to various media and government officials. Several postal workers die after handling the letters (throughout October).
 
2002.

March 1st: US troops invade Afghanistan. Operation Anaconda begins in Eastern Afghanistan.:whip:
