Back in my day, politicians were able to use fast food slogans in their campaigns.

What interesting things happened back in your day?
 
Back in my day, the Dodgers played in Brooklyn. 😀
 
Here's a few things i remember...


April 3rd,1967. Martin Luther King is murdered by James Earl Ray in Memphis Tenn.

June 5th 1968.Robert Kennedy murdered by Sirhan Sirhan in Los Angles.

July 20th 1969.The first man sets foot on the Moon.Thats one small step for a man,one giant leap for mankind....

May 4th,1970.Seven students are shot dead by the Ohio National Guard during a protest over President Nixon's invasion of Cambodia during the Vietnam War.
 
Here's some more.

If i made $2.00 mowing somebodys yard i felt like i was rich.

Soda was sold in glass bottles that were returned for a deposit.

My parents had a charge account at MJ'S grocery store.

Doctors still made house calls.

When we got a color tv in 1968 it was a major event.

When we got a 7-11 in town nobody could believe a store stayed open that late.Yes,they were open from 7 am till 11 pm back then.

When you called a business you got a real person on the phone.

My parents had a charge account at the local pharmacy,and at the gas station to.

You didnt worry about locking the front door to your house if you went out.

Air conditioning was something that movie theaters and business'es had.

Automatic Transmissions and A/C on a car was a luxury.

Cable TV? What was that?

Cell phones were science fiction at best.

Computers were something the government and big business owned.
 
Back in my day, first class postage was 3 cents. 😀 (Today: 39 cents.)
 
In my day houses cost less than today's automobiles.
 
Back in my day, video games consisted of two lines and a dot...none of this "photorealistic crap!" 😛
 
Back in my day, subway fare was 15 cents. (Now: $2.00)
 
Back in my day, David Hasselhoff was actually appreciated in the States, not just Germany 😀
 
back in my day....pong was considered the ultimate video game..hehehe
 
Back in my day, kids actually stayed kids for awhile. None of this "I need a cell phone and I-Pod at age 5" schlock 😛
 
Back in my day, New Coke was one of the biggest economical blunders of the time 😛
 
When I first got my driver's license, gasoline was 27 cents a gallon. 😀
 
The drinking age here in NY state was 18, not 21, when I was 18. 😀
 
The drinking age in Iowa was 19 when I was 19, but 21 in Illinois and Missouri.
 
Back in my day,we had to be home when the street lights came on.

Back in my day,Pong was considered to be cutting edge technology.And it would *burn* the tv screen if played to much.
