Even the strongest shields will collapse after being pounded by turbolasers long enough. A capital ship with the capacity of the Executor (or even the smaller Star Destroyers), can rely on much more than just laser weapons as well. Concussion missles, proton torpedoes, stronger tractor beams, shield-rippers, ion cannons and the aforementioned couple hundred fighters could make for a long day. Plus the one thing that Star Wars has that Star Trek doesn't (I guess to offset the lack of transporters)...the Interdiction field.
A favorite Imperial tactic. Encircle the battlefield with Interdiction fields, preventing ships from going to hyperspace (or subspace, assuming Star Trek is following the laws of physics as well), and then pounding them into oblivion as they bounce back and forth.
