There is a little known version of the Greek myth of Arachne in which the spurned and spider-fied woman enacts some revenge on Athena, the one who transformed her, by wrapping her up with webbing and tickling her feet for nine days straight. The entire earth shook and quaked due to the goddess's mighty struggling, and her roars of laughter were so loud that they reached the ears of Hades on his throne in the Underworld (a sound which inspired him to try a few new "games" with his beloved Persephone...)
At the end of the ninth day, Athena finally managed to break free of her sticky restraints by slicing them with her sword. Arachne attempted to flee, but in vain--there is no running from the vengeance of a wrathful goddess...
