I heard there was a blackout in downtown Manhattan in NYC yesterday.

True.

People I know in Manhattan said that the blackout extended from about the Times Square area, to 72nd Street.

WABC TV in NY, which is near Lincoln Center, in the West 60s, stated they were running on backup generators.

Times Square to72nd Street, Fifth Avenue to the Hudson River, and about 7:30pm to 10:30pm.
