We had a violent thunderstorm here this morning, and I was awakened at 4:19am by my cellphone giving me a loud blast to highlight an announcement that there was a danger of flash FLOODING. :Grrr:

I guess you can't turn off the flash flood PART?

I can turn off the sound entirely, but then I would also miss any phone calls.
I don't know if I can turn off the sound for "Emergency Alerts" while leaving on the sound for phone calls and TEXTS.
😀

Hmmm. I will get a text from Verizon if some real bad weather is coming where I am. My text has a whistle and buzz SOUND. 😀

Well, what I get is a VERY loud alarm sound, much louder than the alarm that I get when I use my cellphone as an alarm clock, for any emergency alert. That includes hail storms, flooding, and Amber Alerts for a kidnapped child in the VICINITY. 😱

No, it is a category of incoming items: phone calls, text messages, emails, notifications, emergency alerts, PIN messages, voice mails.
The phone is a Blackberry, by the WAY. 😀

I wonder if your provider would be able to turn the tone down for the weather EMERGENCY. 😀

If it happens again, then I will go into a Verizon store and ask them how I can turn off the sound for Emergency Alerts ONLY. 😀
